Throwable EDC folder

Kindly friendly trying-to-help answer?

Don't. Just... don't.

Actual honest answer?

Dumbest. Question. Ever. Please stop buying knives and for goodness sakes, stop talking about them. You're making us all look bad, and you're probably going to hurt yourself.

Use the right tool for the job.

bazinga!

I throw my beater paramilitary 2 all the time, its a tough little knife. Usually no spin from short range into soft stuff... but know the risks... dont be disappointed if you break your knife because it is a definite posibility but ive had this para since 2011 and its been thrown a whole lot.

So apparently you ignored the part where I said "just humor me". As much as I get away with at the office, I probably would not get away with throwing a knife. There's also already a dartboard in the next office over.

In truth, I do not recommend throwing any folding knife.
Throwing places a lot of shock on a locking mechanism. It hits with varying degrees of shock at the weirdest angles imaginable. It's very unpredictable.

It's incredibly abusive and it may cause unseen damage that could come back to haunt you.
It will absolutely void warranty, and most importantly, it may simply break your favorite knife.

Our Tri-Ad lock is super tough, and it is amazingly resilient to shock. I know a lot of people who throw their Cold Steel folders (I do it myself) - but anything made by man can be broken by man, and if you are throwing your folder you need to accept that you are hurting it with every throw.

I have a XL Voyager Tanto that I throw for fun and it's become my "throwing knife" - but I don't carry it every day.
I personally think it's a lot of fun, but I wouldn't recommend throwing your "EDC". If you are just carrying one knife, then it would be ill-advised to risk damaging it.

Yeah, I wouldn't throw a knife I would be upset at if I broke it. Currently all the knives I own are ones I like so I haven't tried it. And I absolutely would not try a warranty claim if I broke it doing so, I understand that is not the design purpose of the knife. However, the I've been wanting to try the triad lock anyways, and this may just be the excuse I need to buy one. Although I would probably just throw it in the back yard.
