Thumb ACL surgery

I have some time as far as i know. Consult is Oct 1st. Unknown after that.

Lmao. Bring my own Buck knife straight from Spa.

Did you have the surgery yesterday, or just the first intake? My budget for knife-related purchases has already been spent for the next few weeks, so ordering anything new will have to wait.

Update, I met with surgeon today and he asked if I was in pain, I told him no, he said he would wait for any surgery. He said the surgery can happen anytime or never at all. It's up to me. After considering the risks of surgery vs no surgery I'll take the doctors advice. So a thumb I can close but not open is better than something in between
:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:.

Surgery is never 100% without risk..One fact that gave me pause is 4 out of a thousand die just from the anesthesia and the risk of serious infection (even plain ol Mersa) is always there. After I had bypass surgery I asked Chuck if Buck would ever considered making surgical tools since my Doc said they were extremely expensive but I can't remember what he said lol! Good call on waiting I hated going 'under the knife'...

You could always fashion a spring to bring your thumb back in the open position... :D:p:thumbsup:

Can they recommend some type of home therapy to help get it more usable?

No ACL means no moving. I can only close it. No opening it up. I should talk to Buck about the assisted opening. That would be great.

I was lifting the vent out of a triple pane window t9 replace the lock. Once I sat the vent down and reached for my cordless drill, my thumb wouldn't move to put drill in reverse. The only pain was up in my forearm

Dammm
Knew a vet had much the same happed castrating a horse when the owner lost his grip... could grip but not open his thumb ...
