Knew a vet had much the same happed castrating a horse when the owner lost his grip... could grip but not open his thumb ...

Isn't that the truth.I find it strange when parts of the body may finally fail or hurt.
Think of all the times one may have dodged the bullet when doing things that maybe not have been the best or safest way to accomplish the task but it happened without any damage to anything, body or product. Then doing something that you may have done a lot (safely) and all of a sudden you say to your self, "Oh! I wish I hadn't done that!"
