Thumbdisks ?

There you go! You got the Emerson sickness now!!

I prefer the thumbhole, then thumbdisk. However, I only like Spydercos thumbhole so there is that. I love my EKI thumb disks. That and the wave make Emersons Emersons imo. Aside from the amazing ergonomics ;)

No I think you got it wrong, I am not into messing with what I find works.

Case in point so maybe you can comprehend my thinking. I use t have a Smith & Wesson Model 39, and 59, and spent a lot of money on both to make them reliable enough to trust my life too. This was in the mid 1970’s.

In the end I decided to return to my trust Model 19 Smith & Wesson, as I decided it was more reliable than the Model 39, or 59.

I actually shot the autos better, than the revolver, shooting DE, not just Expert. But like I said I never felt the Model 39, or 59 was totally reliable, there were always hick ups.

Today this fellow name Gaston Glock has come up with these wonderful Safe Action Semi Automatic pistols, that are totally reliable out of the box. Sometime refereed to as Glock perfection. Yes there are peple who modify their Glocks, not me.

If I wa still a Law Dog, and had my choice today of the Smith & Wesson 19, 39, or 59, or last a Glock. I would have a Glock on my hips.

I see no reason to modify my Emerson CQC-7 to me it is just PERFECT the way Mr. Emerson sent it out too me. Now if I could buy a Mini CQC-15 in a True Left Handed Version, I would place an order tomorrow.

But Emerson only make the CQC-7, and Commander in limited Left handed models. I know why because true southpaws like me are maybe 12-15% of the population. Or potential market, why cater to a minority, when you can sell to the majority.

I have to agree with The Pincher.:-) For me at least, EKI is The Only Knife Manuf. where Every design "I get it". They are the only designs where I just shake my head when I see an Emerson messed with. Having said that, I also understand not everyone will agree with me and that's cool. I can't wait for the day when I own a Commander or a 15. Absolute Perfection just like The 7's.There is something magical about a Stock Emerson Knife that is unlike anything I have yet to run into. Great thread. Emerson Thumbdiscs rule IMO.

When I was breaking in my CQC-7 the Thumbdisk did some damage to my under trained, out of shape THUMB. I went into a THUMB BUILD ROUTINE, WORK THE THUMB WITH SMALLER, THEN HEAVIER WEIGHTS, and BUILD UP THUMB MUSSEL. Now the CQC-7 is broken in, smooth as a new born babies behind, and my THUMB has no pain when I use the THUMB DISK that works wonderful.

I Love It!!! And you better be serious too. Ha! A pic is worth a thousand words. That would have put your post in the Epic Category if you'd have included a little rung of 550 hanging from your thumb with a little weight.

Just a little extra info here. Sitting outside with my 7BW and whittling some fine little pieces. These 7's are "Wood Peelers" and whoever says you can't whittle with a chisel grind has No Idea how to properly hone an edge and work an Emerson knife. All my opinion of course.;-)

I still have not figured how to post photos, but my next project is an Orange & Black Para Cord Lanyard for my CQC-7.

Just get a Cqc10 or my personal favorite, an El Bandito! ;)

Quick question for TheRep. I just saw the Zealot for the first time a couple minutes ago after some one mentioning it. Wow. FANTASTIC Design by Ernie. He covered in that design The Only thing I felt was missing in his knives. The choil. That has moved into my Must Have List of EKI knives. I see where it says 4" blade length. That isn't including the actual cutting edge also is it?

The Man definitely knows how to design a knife. Love it. Thanks.

Steel, it's cutting length is about that as a 7. It's a big choil. About as big as striders
