Ahh, the loving care of the USPS...found this package hanging in the rain from my mail box by one of the 2 rubber bands that were holding it together. :thumbdn:

Fortunately, the Ebay seller mattybob30, had packed the knife so well with bubble wrap, it survived unharmed, so kudos to him!

If MY mailman ever left me a mess like that, I'd kick his ass!.:grumpy:...But at-least you DID receive your item.

Here's the thing that REALLY frosts me, normally if I have a package that won't fit in the mailbox, especially if it's raining, he will knock on the door and hand it to me.

Today he just hung it on the newspaper rack on the bottom of my mailbox, and walked away.

Kinda makes me think he didn't want to hand it to me face to face. :thumbdn:

The carriers can really mess up an otherwise nice buying experience. My UPS guy is an idiot. He routinely delivers at 8:00 - 8:30 at night, which is way past their cutoff for a delivery day. I figure he is just incompetent an is afraid to go back to the depot with packages still on the truck. It's funny, when they send a substitute on this route, packages come mid afternoon, coincidence, I don't think so. I have the opposite with my USPS lady, she brings packages to the door and is always cheerful.

That is a sad looking box but atleast your item did not fall out or get damaged .... Geez that is why I have a PO box..because I had something similiar happen to me...except no rubber bands....I was surprised nobody relieve me of my pitiful box being you could see the item inside.

Maybe your regular UPS guy is stuping somebody's old lady in the afternoon:eek: and getting to his route after his cig:rolleyes: Call in to the local depot and complain about it, otherwise you have to live with the 'King of Queens' DPS driver...

I tip all my regular carriers around the Winter Holidays, and in turn every item that's not a letter gets to my front door no matter the weather. they ring a few times, and then leave them under the deck BBQ in case it rains before I get home. Now THAT'S service:D

I tip all my regular carriers around the Winter Holidays,

Same here, my family has done that as long as I can remember. I normally have a great respect for the USPS, but since December, I've had 1 package completely lost that I had to refund money for, 1 take 4 weeks to get to it's destination, and several that have taken 2 weeks, and now this.

Have I just been lucky all this time, or has their service took a plunge lately???
