Tibetan Short Sword and Hanuman for 2/10

I looked through all the old DotD threads I could find and didn't see a katana. Probably out of my price range but I really wanted to see the pictures LOL.

Here it is, it think: (oops, crossed posts with Bawanna)

The Christmas Kothimoda Katana

Here is a special discount for those of you who appreciate
our special sword handmade by Rajkumar.

There was a tiny hairline on the walnut wooden handle,
near the bolster, and Rajkumar repaired it as soon as he
saw it, and our discount will make one of you happy this
Christmas.

My intention was to sell this beautiful sword for $1250, but
I have reduced the price to $595 because of the small repair
on the handle.

Rajkumar made this sword a few years back and it is from old
stock. The silver nickel sheath, beautifully made by Arjun, is worth
more than the asking price. It is decorated with turquoise and coral,
with a little chain for decoration.

This elegant gift is perfect for a special Christmas present you won’t
find anywhere else.

Details:

Overall length --36 inch long
Weight -- 45 oz
Spine thickness --1/4''
Steel guard
Brass bolster and buttcap
Chiruwa style walnut wood handle with leaf shape bone inlaid
Beautifully done nickel silver sheath
Price $595.00

Happy Holidays!

Well I think we should make today a holiday, first time in HI Forum history I beat Mr. Steve Tall. I knew he was looking and I was running. He did a much finer job attaching the pictures, actually weren't a fair race, that had to take some time.
While I bask in the glow of a first time event even though some would argue I took the low road or shortcut so to speak, I once again bow to my better.

Well done Mr. Tall. I don't know how you do it.

Incidently Shavru my cyber bride that got away, I have that same katana in it's own place of honor in my half man cave. I actually won it when I was a brand new HI convert. First of many strokes of good luck here for me and a stroke I nearly had when Karda announced I was the winner. Not something I'm accustomed to anywhere else in my life. Here, I always seem to get the right cards.

Oh my word that IS BEAUTIFUL! I would be afraid of getting it dirty and would have to wash my hands and put on those little museum curators white cloth gloves every time I touched it because I would hate to risk even a finger print marring that. Hmm Looks like I seriously need to save up my pennies though. Well worth the price in my not so humble opinion but still a bit out of reach for me right now even if it was still available.

Thank you both for helping me find it. I hadn't gone back far enough was only going back to beginning of the year.

Bawanna, I would say that certainly is worthy of a place of honor :) If you have to be lucky somewhere this isn't a bad place for that to be :)

I've been told by those far wiser than I, (ok that's about everyone I meet) that the Katana is valued at 1500 to 2000 bucks.
As Auntie mentioned in the description she intended to offer it for 1295.00 but found a crack or something so lowered it less than half. So yes I'd say it's a tremendous value. Also agree it's a bit rich for the folks on my side of the tracks, but gosh durn beautiful.

If it's still available in a few months, I just might have to weather another wife lashing, but I do believe it'll be worthwhile.

That Cristmas Kathimoda Katana is no longer available:grumpy: Sure hate to see that one gone. Its was a Rajkumar at that! Guess that was the last one by the Prince. Bawanna consider yourself lucky!

Its Mine!!!:D:cool: Dont worry bout your lashing Cul!
