Time for partial retirement.

Ditto what they said.
:D

You -are- the heart of this forum.
& we hope to see you around for a long time more.

Please take care of yourself.

(Now about that tocacco. )

Have you considered office hours?
Or as close as practicable.

Maybe:
No business after dinner?
And no business before lunch?
And a 3 day weekend (with no business).
Certain business activities on certain days?
Post specials just on certain days--Tue/Thu or Mon/Tue/Wed?

As remarkable as your service has been,
You could have just as good a rep if it took an
extra day or two, or three :p to deliver the khuks.

From watching my wife overwork herself,
I think the key is to cut out the stress points.

80/20 rule applies.
80% of your effort goes into 20% of the outcome.
If you can dump half of that 20% you reduce your effort
by a great deal.
No need to nickel & dime the changes.

Decide that some things causing you stress just have to change.
Decide when to "Say when."

 pix?

You know what you can do.
Just decide to do what you need & do it.

I bet you knew all that.
Sometimes it's good to hear someone else say it.

Best regards.

I haven't been here as long as most everyone else but I have to say that this is a great place. One thing that makes it great is you Uncle Bill. Not just the Uncle Bill that post great deals on great knives, but the Uncle Bill that cares for and goes above and beyond for people. Often times for strangers and people a world away. Thank you for it all and have a great time in semi-retirement. You have earned it and much more. Bless you and yours and remember that others are there if you need anything. Sincerely , Mark Nelson

Congrats on the upcoming birthday. Enjoy the well deserved retirement.....and thanks!
Regards,
Greg

In addition to what ddean said about office hours, consider also having a good separation between home and office. It's tough for lots of people who run businesses from their home to know when to take time for themselves. People who work away from home have their commute time to help maintain a separation, where home is a place to not think about work... My dad has worked from his house alot, and often enjoys a walk or bike ride at about 5pm, or at least going and changing from "work clothes" to "home clothes", after which it is home time, no work allowed. Just my $0.001 after taxes, you'll still an inspiration for us young pups who have trouble keeping up...

Uncle Bill,
You have to look out for yourself as well. Time is too short to let somethings go by. I for one appreciate the great customer service, the dedication to the Kamis, their families and to us your customers(and friends). As I'm sure does everyone else. That being said, you feel you need to slow down a bit. It's understandable. We'll enjoy your being around even more when you get back from your trips. ;)
Mike
P.S. Happy Birthday!

It's all been said better than I could have.

Except to repeat Happy Birthday, and the best of wishes to you and all your friends and loved ones. Take care of yourself Uncle Bill. And I am glad you aren't going to be gone completely.

Happy Birthday Uncle Bill!:)

You should take it easier, you deserve the time off. We'll just appreciate you all the more when you're around.

There isn't a bunch that I can say that hasn't already been said. And, probably said much more elegantly than I could.

I am glad that you are going to spend as much quality time for yourself and family. Too many others that I know haven't done this and it bothers me that they are taking the chance of losing out on a lot of memories that they may not have time for if they don't do like you are doing and just take the time. I'm sure that our maker knows you have earned a bunch of R & R.

We will all be here if needed. Enjoy the time off Yeoman. We all love ya. :) :)

Will miss you when you're gone, but life is too short not to spend with family and friends. Best wishes to you always, and will look forward to those times when you return.

Uncle,
You and most of this forum has been with me when I had no place else to go. I appreciate all you have done for us.

That being said, take some advice from a college student; you cant take it with you, have fun while you can ;) ;) :D

Now you've got me wondering if I should have stopped by and introduced my wife and kid, or if I should thank god I didn't load more on you.

Forget about answering every post, and let the forumites like JP, Pendentive, Sarge, etc., who know enough to debate the bulk of the questions do so. Answer the half that the forum can't do for you.

While I was in town, I picked up some pieces of coral for interval beads and the guru bead to go with the howlite mala I'm about to string up for myself. Once I finish it I'll send it and an offering along with it for Jigme to bless, along with the "Guru" I've known for several years now. Then when I get it back I'll have to figure out how to work it. With your health in mind of course.

The person I will think of as my "Guru" is you, naturally. And like being the guest of honor at a necktie party, you don't get a chance to decline the honor.

Impermenance is the way of the universe. Enjoy the things that flow from this.

And have a happy birthday. 70 is a lot of days to celebrate. :)

The Cantina has a strong foundation. A man of less character might have to worry about his house in his absence. But your example has attracted some of the finest men and women I know. You deserve a break and you deserve to know that we'll keep this a place we're proud to call home. We could do no less. Namaste.

Frank
