If a Bushcraft is ordered now, what is the realistic time until actual delivery?

There's no way of really knowing that bud. My best guess would be about 6 months (+/- a month) just judging where its at in the production schedule. Honestly though there isn't a way to know for certain. I can say that when you do receive it, you will be getting an excellent quality tool, made in America, to Guy's high standards, with a life time warranty, with amazing steel all for a very reasonable price.

I know the wait is a huge turn off, just keep in mind the quality that is produced. My factory second came to me in better shape then factory first I've gotten from several companies. IMHO the wait is minuscule compared to the quality and value you'll end up with.

Realistically each model has taken around 3 months. This may speed up with the new processes. Just place your order and be prepared to wait a bit. Not that big a deal

A LONG TIME, and you can never predict exactly how long... but the wait is always worth it. You need to have a zen patience regarding how you view your S!K order. Immediate gratification is usually not a part of the S!K experience.

All I can say that is the knife will be worth the wait. If you don't like it you can sell it here or on ebay and you might even sell it for more than you paid for it. If you can't or don't want to wait pick up a 4.1 or a 5.1 when they go on sale soon.

I know this is about time of order to the door. But I want to bring up something a bit off topic, if I steer too far by all means let me know.

I got a 3.5 from an individual on here, it was in great shape BTW. I got to open it on Christmas morning. Well long story short, my clumsy ass managed to break the clip. I emailed Ellie and explain I had a broken clip. I got a very quick response (2days, let's keep in mind how many people answer said emails and hat mail) and it stated they were sending another clip and a bit of a poke with a stick you can say. :) I received my package today and inside was my clip, and awesome patch and some thing for my wife.

Thanks Ellie I'll never get my necker II back.

My long winded story boils down to this. People get so hung up on time to door be cause other companies drop a knife in the mail and their part is over. Survives customer service goes beyond that. IMHO Guy doesn't craft his blades to be beauty queens, they're built to be used hard. And sometimes that proves to be too hard, and they actually welcome the feed back. Survive gets my vote every time because of the little things extra they put forth to take in said feed back and better their selves and the craft.

Sorry for the ramble.

Thanks for sharing the story TT. I think when you are used to the amazon prime world of ordering (gotta love it) that becomes your expectation. Not everybody would balk at waiting, but not everyone knows what to expect. I think somewhere on the website they refer to themselves as a "craft knife manufacturer" which I think is an apt comparison. If you have always ever consumed miller light, and someone hands you a big west coast triple IPA, you will likely spit it out and say "this is crap beer I hate it" because your expectation was miller light. That doesnt mean either beer was bad, just different.

That's one thing I really like about the group here, everyone is helpful when it comes to getting the word out about expectations, and the eventual pay-off. Every company is different, and not everyone can or desires to be a big monolith. I like the product survive puts out, I like the people who make the product, and stories like yours only re-affirm that feeling.

You guys nailed it. These things are totally worth the wait considering the fit and finish is effin' amazing plus you get super steels at super prices. I don't know of any other company that takes the time to shoot the shit with their customers and followers. We're like a big family here.

Hahah! I consider it important to foster women in the knife world. We are a minority.

Thank you for the kind words. We just keep being ourselves and putting one foot in front of the other.

You all are doing a great job. I have been trying to get my wife to share this hobby with me, and so far the only knife she is/has been excited about is the new spec 3.5 i pre-ordered for her!

She loved em Ellie. Thanks.

You guys are doing great. Keep up the good work, and don't mind the nay sayers out there they just hadn't seen perfection and don't understand perfection takes time.
