I've been looking at ZT's.. I really want to get one this summer when I start making some money mowing grass, but not sure which one yet. I'm thinking the 0562 might be best for me, though. Any suggestions?

801 is awesome! I highly recommend it.

I saw it a while ago, love the way the handle looks but don't like the blade shape since most of my cutting is sorta stab cuts. The blade shape is what's drawing me to the 0562, sort of a drop or clip point, good for piercing, and no recurve.

Do you have any other high-end knives? I would get a blem from kershawguy.com or try to find a used one. I have 2 ZT's but I didn't pay full price for either and to be honest I'm not sure I would. They are built solid for sure but you can get a knife that's just as strong for much less. And I personally don't notice a difference in edge retention. I'm not claiming the high-end steels like S30V don't hold an edge better, I'm sure they do, but I just don't use my knives in a manner that makes it apparent to me. I would really like to get some more ZT's because I like the designs but I can't justify the price, even though I can afford them.

Looks nice, but I doubt it'll be aroumd by the time I save up the money.

The 801 is "stabby" and doesn't have a recurve. Maybe you are thinking of a different knife.

Sorry, I was thinking of a different one, but now I don't know which one it was that I was thinking. Or maybe I was thinking of that one but my memory had distorded the blade shape.

A D2 Griptilian is the most expensive one I own. I will probably watch the exchange for a while when I have the cash saved up and buy a slightly used one or a blem from Kershaw guy.

Just had mac n cheese with the brats. Gf won't eat asparagus and we didn't want to go to the store to get anything else. The brats were pretty horrible tasting. I don't remember what brand these are, but next time we buy some more think we will stick with Johnsonville.
I stick with either Johnsonvilles or I will get them from a butcher and they are YUMMY! But yeah don't go with the no brand ones.

We went out for steak to make up for the last attempt. I had an 18oz ribeye with a double helping of asparagus. It was delicious.
It's hard to argue with that menu! It sounds YUMMY! I'm hoping to get a good steak this weekend.

Going backpacking with scouts this weekend for spring break. We are hiking the ozark highland trail, I'm looking forward to it but I am a little nervous, it's been awhile since I've been backpacking

You've gotta have some serious patience. Remember to get some pix.

That sounds really good WW. I shoulda made a steak instead.

It was an excellent meal!!

It was suppose to come with a side, salad, and bread or something like that, but when we were walking in i seen a young waitress carrying a plate to a table with a huge helping of asparagus and i just had to have some. So i ordered the biggest Ribeye they had and told them to substitute everything else for as much asparagus as i could get. They brought me 2 plates. 1 plate for the steak and 1 for the asparagus. Both were delicious.

Everyone was happy. The kids even sat quietly until their plates were clean.. We were impressed. My daughter normally cant go 3 seconds without speaking... That food shut her up HAHAHA

Speaking of my daughter, she had the table next to us cracking up!!! i gave her the last bite of my steak and she says "daddy if you had more of this id beat you up and take it" But she said it just loud enough for the next table to hear and they thought it was hilarious... I thought it was Thursday LOL.... I was surprised she didnt say she'd kill me for it honestly. She probably would have if she didnt just finish a plate full of ribs :D That's Daddy's girl!!

My son said he liked his mac and cheese more than the steak... Hard time to be a father. I almost left him there, but he is still young so i have time to train him.

Can't go wrong with em. I own a few and love em (0700, 0350OR, 0801, 0562, and 0121)

You really can't go wrong with any one of em. Each have their own benefits. The 0562 is great, but for the money you will spend on one; the only thing you gain over a 0566 is the blade length (my 0562 was a gift but after using it I'd still buy one). The 0562 will run you around $200 and the 0566 I've seen on the exchange for $100. Assisted vs bearings is your preference (I like em both). I you have any questions about any specific ones feel free to ask me I've held / used most of em.

Hah! that's awesome! made me laugh this morning.

The 770cf has all but replaced every pocket knife I own. Perfect for me. Light and medium size with a good blade. I carried a 560 for almost two years and it was just more knife than I needed for a pocket knife.

Thanks again to everyone who has voted. It truly made my day.

Guyon, I will try to make a piss joke. Not sure how to approach it though. Let's not get the cart before the horse. If get picked I will seek your wisdom.

Thanks! I really like the blade shape on the 0562 and 0566, but I think the blade length may be worth the extra money to me (I love the length on my full size Griptilian, so anything smaller now seems like a "small" knife to me). I got to hold a 566 in a store for a bit about a month ago, and after holding all of the larger ZT's that they had it just seemed underwhelming. My dad bought a Kershaw Knockout I found on the exchange a while back, and I actually prefer it over the 0566 I held so much that I plan on buying it once I've gotten the ZT I decide on. How smooth is the opening when comparing them to each other?

Of the flippers, the 0801 is the smoothest, 0562 is pretty much the same (if I cleaned and lubed it would be the same). The 0700, I polished the washers and lubed it, but it's not as smooth as bearings. The 0350OR I have the torsion bar in still so it's assisted and opens with authority.

Thanks! After hearing that I'll probably stick with the 0562. Thanks again for the help.

Voted again. If you get picked, we'll start a piss joke thread.

Voted again!

Hey guys, I feel a little odd posting this but I would really appreciate the help.

I have entered a contest to have the adventure of a lifetime and be on a Survivorman show with host Les Stroud.
I have been a fan of Survivorman for many years and I would be honored if you guys would support me on this and vote for me in the contest.

Voted! Great audition vid, man... you come across as sane and thoughtful, which is exactly the sort of characteristics that make Les Stroud my favorite TV survival show host. Best of luck!

With your permission, I'd like to share your audition in my subforum and on my facebook pages. That might get you a couple more votes :)
