I'd have to choose "Flatiron"" that being a good description and a word that has some historical fiearms context. To me that's appropriate for a Gunstock pattern.
I know you didn't want any new suggestions, but my initial thought (and I have not seen the initial post) was that it was flush finished. Nice knife.
