I'll tell you though, this thread had me lookin' at Joel Chamblin Trappers.
You guys are a bad influence, did you know that?

I usually use semichrome, followed by a couple of coats of Renaissance Wax. That trapper is just as mint as the day it left the factory. Most flat yellow case knives seem to have wire marks, where they were on a board(for some reason). Thankfully this one didn't. Talk to you later sunburst.

Really nice knife BR! Does stag get any better????

Well, here's a USA era (1965-1969) First Model Stainless 54 trapper. It doessn't show up real good in the photo, but if you look real close you can see the "Tested XX Stainless" etch on the master blade.

Well if you are only going to have one, that's a fine one to have. Great looking knife! Beautiful file work and the scales are just right.

Hey waynorth,

Since you only have one little old run down, run of the mill trapper you better let me hold onto it for you. I can feel it's pain from being lonely way down here and I want to introduce it to some knifer cousins...:D

Beautiful knife in a thread of beautiful knives...I love the filework on that piece of art, filework just does it for me...Nice...........................

Thanks for sharing,

Sunburst

Thanks for the compliments, Sunburst *I think* !
But my trapper loves me best ;) :D !!
Keep 'em comin' everyone!

Yikes! Looks like I put my knife away before cleaning and oiling it. :o

Heres one of my Case Trappers with CV blade. I took my dremal tool to the spey blade then,I soaked it in warm vinger for about two hours to give it that old look.

Steve, it just looks like a knife that gets carried and used on a regular basis. Those yellow handleds just call out to be carried and used.

Caine, nice shaping job on that former spey blade. The term, "you made it your own," has been SO overused on reality music shows, that I'll just say it's been personalized. LOL, just make sure you are buried with it. I can just see some ebay huckster in the far future (long life to you) claiming how it was one of the rarest of issues by Case. "Folks, ya just don't find this one these days." Naturally, he'll have polished the blades and claimed it to be mint and unsharpened.

It's great to see such a range of knives from your basic EDC working knife to the fine artistry of custom makers, some of which also are EDCd. They all look good.

I don't collect trappers and don't have very many of them. I do have a few, though, and I'll offer up this image of a couple of them.
