I know there have been threads about this in the past, but I just wanted to know how BFC people carry their knives.

Do most people who you see carry theirs Tip-Down because that's the way their knife comes / no way to change it? (I'm referring to random people you see with pocket clips)

Just couple of things to note: How people carry their favorite knives is not always their preferred way. Many knives offer only one way. Second, if you're talking about tip up or down preference, I would add "Don't care, as long as it is comfortable" to the list of choices.

99% of the time you can carry however you want to (that includes getting some pocket clip holes tapped). And if people didn't care, they can choose whichever of the three they like. I'd really like this poll to remain as simple as possible.

dont really care. clip design and how deep it carries is more of a concern to me.

In a perfect world all knives would be tip-up with a CRK style clip that holds on the pocket seam. :)

I change all my Spydercos to tip-up carry, because they usually came as tip-down and the jimping is always in your way when you want to reach in your pocket, and some of them are pretty sharp..

I got used to tip down when I flipped my knife out and since I don't do that anymore I still prefer tip down as it just makes for a better feeling carry.!

God intends for you to carry tip-up, if carried in the strong side pocket. This places the thumb on the Spydie hole or thumb stud so that the knife does not have to be flipped around after extraction.

I carry on my weak side pocket, so I go tip-down, which for me is more efficient when transferring the knife to my strong side hand. I have spoken with God about this, and He forgives me for not doing the tip-up thing. The side benefit is that the knife will not open up in my pocket when its tip-down. I have sliced my hand badly more than once, and poked holes in my pocket when a blade unintentionally opens in my pocket.

I prefer tip down as it is easier for me to extract and open the knife. As well, with the pivot at the top, there is less fouling due to pocket lint and there is no worry of a partly exposed blade tip while taking the knife out.

Usually I carry my folders in a horizontal belt-sheath, but if I HAVE TO carry a folder via a pocket-clip, it's generally tip-up.

Tip-down for me. Guess I am in a minority. :o

I wish pocket and sheath were separate. I never carry a pocket knife (i will when my Svord arrives), I usually carry one on my belt. Knives actually got me to start wearing a belt.
