Titanium Folder Recommendation

Whats so good about LG knives exactly?
Fit n finish is up there with best, eg. Chris reeves, Hinderer. His stonewash finishes are excellent and hide any wear n tear extremely well. Very easy to take apart and maintain.

But the thing that got me hooked more than anything is the action he achieves on pb washers. Almost as good as bearings but with a very hydraulic feel. Nothing I’ve experienced on pb washers comes close except maybe an old inkosi that has been broken in over many years. The mk3 drops shut, you would think it’s on bearings.
They also carry very well in the pocket for the size and has a great feel in the hand.

Also, your supporting a great guy, that up until the last few months was a one man show. He just recently hired a helper. He’s also very easy to get in touch with via ig or fb.

He’s definitely highly underrated because he just doesn’t put out the volume to get them in enough people’s hands but once someone gets em they usually hang on to em. They may only come up on the exchange once or twice a month. I haven’t seen a flipper vecp come up in probably 3-4 mos.

This all just my opinion, there’s a few other Les Heads here on bf but not many. So I’ve been on a mission to get the word out and recognition he deserves!

Well you definitely have me interested I think I'll try and pick one up just for sheer curiosity. If what you say is true it won't be difficult to offload if im not a fan. Thanks for the info I can see you really stand behind LG.

Looking for a nice slim minimalist EDC titanium knife in a a good steel for up to $400 that's not a Sebenza.
Max overall length id prefer under 8" blade length 3.30" or under.

Not really bothered whether its a flipper tab or thumbstud opening method etc.

Had my eye on the following but not sure if there is anything better?
Kizer T1
Kizer Varatas
Kizer Feist (Might be too small)
Tactile Knife Rockwall
Quiet Carry Waypoint

Can anyone recommend any good knives with this criteria?
I am a kizer fan and have a few. I love my feist, but it is more of a gentleman's pocket knife with some heft. The reverse tanto blade is a wonderfully useful configuration. But as you said, it might be too small.

I had a beefier Kizer ti traditional flipper with a heavier blade, but I gave it away. The blade was just too chunky for being a flipper. I have another with a more dagger shape, thinner blade and it is wonderful.

All under $200 when on sale.

Edit: fix dang autocorrect.

True!

What caught my attention was the history and tradition.

Stan Fujisaka and Ken Onion were in LG's circles and mentors.

Hope someone can correct me, if I'm wrong.

Tradition=Longevity =Value

I highly recommend the Les George VECP. I have a 9year old VECP and love it. I dont carry it much because it has sentimental value to me. It was in my pocket when my youngest daughter was born and when the midwife tried to hand me scissors… well you know what happened next! Instead of taking them I deployed the old VECP and cut the cord!

Mine has an XHP blade and I really love that steel. It slipped through that umbilical cord and the midwive laughed and commented it was sharper than a scalpel.

Wow, great story. I can see that being a very special piece for you. Congrats

Kunwu Django. Affordable, ergonomic, practical, and extremely high quality. And available right now on Kunwu’s website.

I’d suggest the Padre as well, but they’re a little hard to find, and a wee bit larger than your specs.

I’ll second the Militaw, or maybe take a look at Miguron/Ameight’s offerings.

The support for LG is well deserved, my MK3 is a phenomenal knife, and I only traded my VECP because someone swapped a Norsman for it. I will replace the VECP eventually, but the MK3 is a permanent addition to the collection.

The discontinued Spyderco Advocate is my second favorite framelocks (of like four). Very clean in it's design.

Old pic, since have lost the Microtech. The fine finish on the Advocate really helps against rusting.

That’s the first I’ve seen of the advocate! What beautiful blade! I’m gonna have to put it on my list! Are they hard to come by?

Most of my recommendations would be Spydercos. Really too many to mention & they'd probably cost more than you want to spend.

And, FWIW, the ones you've already mentioned that you're considering are as good enough a place to start as any.

I can't help much, but I'm loving my SHF Plague Doctor 3.25! S45VN is a nice steel. The stone washed blade has a polish to it that I haven't seen on other stone washed blades. Nice touch!
I won't lie, the engraving is what hooked me on the knife, but now that I have it I'd be happy with a plain Jane model. Great action, great lock up, meticulous build, and very comfortable to my hand.

The SHFs are awesome knives, and I agree, the stonewash on the blade is unlike any other I've experienced, it honestly feels soft to the touch.

Peregrine and norcalAF:

I have a pj 3.25. By mistake. Beverages were involved.

May be the best mistake I ever made!

It's got use all over it and that makes me smile.

Get one, it's worth it!

(when you can)
😂 I am currently at three SHFs I did trade one for an Olamic, and yes beverages were also involved. My PJ, my JOD, and this beauty are going nowhere however!

You've got some very good recommendations. An iMamba, a CRK of your choice, or a SHF would be my recommendations to you, however looks like you've got the list of choices pretty much set. The three are all fantastic knives, and have their different strengths, and different things that I might change if I had the chance to design one. Just depends on what you like. The CRKs and the iMamba are pretty similar in their builds, blade stock thicknesses, top of the line fit and finish. The SHF is a fantastic knife also, however it's a much beefier tank like knife. My opinion is that the CRKs and Arno Bernards are a little bit more refined than the SHF, however the SHF makes up for it in being a tank, and in their super intricate lazer engravings and anodizations.
I've been a fan of Les George's work since I can remember. His knife career has been long. When I first got heavily into knives and the online knife community in about 07, I do believe he was still poppin. He's always kind of been a little more underground, being as he doesn't make as many knives as some of the rest. All that said, I have never owned one. It's kind of crazy too because he's always been on kind of my top 5 knife makers list since I can remember. One of these days I'll grab me one.
