Titanium Frame lock WIP and introduction

unfortunately I do not have a scale. So I cant tell you guys exactly how much this thing weighs.

But I can say this. It's freakin heavy

My Lone Wolf T3 was right around 10 oz. and 11" OAL, it carried surprisingly well in pocket at least with blue jeans.

Enjoy that KNIFE man and let us know how it cuts!

wow guys I just received mine today. I cant say enough about this blade. This is 1 of my all time favorites and a monster folder. It is smooth as butter and far more then I could have expected. I love it more then my Umnumzaan and smf tanto and that is going places. This thing is leaps and bounds ahead of any xm 18. Dalibor is also great to deal with I encourage anyone who is remotely on the fence or thinking about it to email Dalibor.

P.S. I do not work for Dalibor lol I just really fell for this blade. It will be my new EDC

keep up the great work.

^^
Congrats, Jeremy! Dalbors knives are built for battle!

Ps we gotta get you posting pics! :)

After noticing the Regulus in Pyaoliang's collection update, my curiosity was piqued I've been reading everything I can on this knife, which has brought me to this thread. Holy cow. The Regulus looks AMAZING. Mr. Dalibor, you sir make fantastic knives, and sometime in the next few months I hope to order one. Please keep updating this thread, I don't usually come over to bladeforums but this is something I definitely intend to follow!

thank you everyone for your kind words!!!

i'm starting a new batch, this one will have sm-100 and 3v blades :D

i got all the handles and blades cut, blades are grounded, got phosphorus bronze for washers , titanium rods and 420 ss rod for pivot. so everything is set..

today i started doing titanium standoffs , tomorrow i'll finish those and make the rest of the pivots and than to the grinder!!!

That's it? "this one will have sm-100 blah blah blah. :) C'mon give me some more info here. Have you field tested this steel yet? How was it to work with? Did you work out a final price for these?

I'm a dedicated fixed blade guy, and have never understood the point of a folding knife (I EDC a 4.5" blade).

These are the first folding knives I've ever seen that give me that "perfect knife feeling".

The simplicity and style really set them apart.

First of all, I'm not happy at all. This thread is pure knife porn and SHOULD have some sort of disclaimer as to the damage it could potentially cause in your marriage/bank account. My wife walked into the room while I was looking at one of the pictures of the regulus wearing nothing but an orange peel and she begins the usual "don't even blah blah blah". I blacked out at this point and the only thing I was able to utter as I made a mad dash for my wallet before she could run my credit card through the garbage disposal was "NOT A FINGA!!".

Secondly, where do I send my first born? She's a really nice kid and I was just about to start teaching her to mow the grass on the riding law mower, so please know that giving her up comes at a great loss to me.

Finally, I have a slightly used kidney for sale. Also have a liver I wouldn't mind taking a chunk out of but buyer must be a drinker or it could possibly reject your body.

My goodness, this guy is a metal magician. Bravo, good sir, bravo. I'm going to send you an email but when I learn the price there will surely be weeping. My wife is gonna miss that kid.

Uh, to translate that weight into a unit we Americanized knife addicts can understand, that would be 0.000292 tons. Your welcome.

thank you all for your kind comments! i really appreciate it!!!

yes this knife is quite heavy. .190" Ti + .220" 3v will do that :)
i'm excited too to start grinding sm-100 , i'll tell you all about it in a few days :D

today i tapped ~50 titanium standoffs with a single tap and on the last 10 i broke 5 taps!!!
i was looking to buy a die holder for my lathe but didn't find any..so i ordered one to be made for me, it will be done next week so my pivots have to wait till than.
next i drilled bunch of holes in the titanium frames , man i'm not even half way there...each hole is drilled countersunk once and than i countersink only the very edge of the hole...so a lot of drill usage today and tomorrow.

hope to start grinding the day after tomorrow.

i also can't wait to see how sm-100 will work out :D

i'm not posting much photos as i'm searching for different tools and it takes away my knifemaking time, but i'll be done with it in a day or two :)
today i made the first blade , grinded it's profile (choil most importantly so it closes nicely) and by that one i'll make all others.
still there are gonna be differences but this way each one is unique ;)

so today i grinded my first sm-100 blade
i attempted to grind it yesterday and failed miserably...but today i got new belts and used 40grit zirconium belt and it worked like a treat!!! you can't imagine how this material grinds..40grit doesn't look at all like 40grit on metal, very strange.. and it seems there's no friction between the belt and sm-100 , hard to explain but very interesting material.

so i grinded 9 3v blades and 1 sm-100..4 sm-100 to go

here's some photos:
