Titanium Military

Combine the best slicing blade in the business with the safest/more solid lock around and voilà! Awesome knife! (can't wait to get my Ti/G10 M4 version :D)

Congrats, Stabman! You probably added to Jay's pension. ;)

IMO, the Military is one of the finest knives made, but I can't justify adding the Ti to the stable. The Military has always been a light weight, tough use folder which has an enviable record of performance in it's G10 and CF versions. The additional 1.7 oz of weight in the Ti model, puts it into a different catagory for me.

The Ti is a beautiful knife, but a little too beautiful for me.:(

Despite all the variants of the Military that have come out over the years I only have one model and the reason is that the clip is set for tip down carry only, which means that a lanyard ends up down in your waistband or pocket. Why provide a lanyard hole and then make the knife for tip down carry ONLY?
Would it be too much to ask for Spyderco to offer a choice between tip up and tip down carry? Maybe it doesn't bother anybody else ?

As a means of pulling the knife out of the pocket, the lanyard hole location wouldn't work well.
It would work fine for attaching a lanyard intended to secure the knife in the hand for use though.:)

bingo

Tip down carry drives me crazy too, but I'm willing to put up with it in certain circumstances...

Thanks for the pics......

What is the finish on the Ti like? Bead blasted or something more durable?

That is really an awesome knife, the only bad thing that it has, is the absence of the tip up carry, as already mentioned.
Apart this it's one of the nicest Spyderco:cool:

If Spyder guys decide to put the holes for tip up carry in the knife I will put it immediately in my wish list.
I especially like tip up carry in frame-locks also because in this configuration, the locking liner is more exposed to direct pressure from the hand during use and it's not partially covert by the clip.

Congratulations Stabman;)

I have larger hands and I can almost fit a hand and a half on the handle of the Military, I don't think you need a lanyard to secure it. :)

The lanyard tube in mine is loose. I can move it back and forth slightly and turn it freely. I can also squeeze the scales together enough to tighten everything up, but they spring right back apart. Don't know if this is planned into the design or what. Anybody else notice this?
