Tizzybea good or bad?

I have been kinda burned by him before, I bought a lockback bowie that he listed as "solingen" steel, but when I got the knife, it was acid etched "pakistan" and stamped "SCLINGEN", when I emailed him, he got irate saying "solingen, sclingen, and solinger are all the same." I thought that I was buying at least a German knife, if a cheapie. Sclingen and solinger knives are supposed to be "solingen", with a "bad stamp". I tried to explain my position to him, and he said that I should be happy because the leather sheath is worth more than I paid.

I paid $15+S&H for the knife.

This transaction was over a year ago, when he was on ebay, and he (I think) got kicked off.
Now he's on Bladeauction, and I've been afraid to deal with him, but now he has an auction or two that interest me.

I'm fairly new to bladeforum, or I would have posted imediately after the auction.

Has anyone else had good or bad experiences with this seller?

I bought a "clone" from Brenda a few weeks ago. Everything was as stated on her auction. It took a couple of days longer to get here than a couple of others, but everything was ok. She deals in clones, knock-offs, etc. They're all "inexpensive" and not anything of real quality, but what do you want for $10.00? Shipping is stated right in the auction, so if it's too much, I don't bid. She has a bunch of auctions on EBay as well. She has a web site as well, with more of the same. Any knife stamped "Soligen" is quite often a Chinese, Pakistani, etc., knock-off. If you aren't sure, you can always email the owner and ask. I've done this and all have gotten back to me promptly with the answer.

When I was still lurking and doing a great deal of business on Bladeauction buying POS and knock-offs I did a couple, maybe three deals with Tizzybea and they all went just fine. Once, they even packaged a bunch of smaller knives I had ordered with hair scrunchies holding the boxes together for added protection so that they didn't jump out and bump into one another in shipping. I thought that was a cool solution to a common problem and my daughters LOVED the little scrunchies! I haven't had enough deals to really 'vouch' for them but the few deals I did have were good and shipped timely.

Good luck,
Shawn

Sheesh -- why do you even ask?

Manufacturers in Solingen know how to spell the name of their city.... One of my favorites is when the box says "LALUE $99.99" on a $10 item ... nobody can haul them into court and accuse them of lying about the value....
