Hey Forum Members:

Please give feedback regarding True North Knives retailer but only if this is the correct place for obtaining opinions or evaluations. I've never purchased from them and I'm interested in a CRK Model that they carry.

They are great, don't even hesitate to buy from them. I've bought several and have had no issues.

Try searching for their name here, you can find all teh feedback threads that have been made.

TNK is one of the best Ive dealt with. Id reccomend them without hesitation. I found them in December and have made a handful of purchases from them Neil is a really good guy.

I 100% recommend TNK. Smooth every time. If you are a bullsh!tter, your bluff will be called. Neil bends over backwards to make deals smooth because that's what he does, NOT because he owes anybody a doggone thing.

I bought a Strider SMF from TNK last year in June. Before my purchase I emailed Neil, and asked some questions regarding their Striders they had and whether they were using the new lock geometry or not. He responded quickly and was very polite. In my response I thanked him for the "hasty" response. Initially he was insulted thinking I used the word "hasty" to imply it was rushed and not a good response to my question. However, once I clarified myself he was a pleasure to deal with and the knife arrived the next day with a box of Smarties and a TNK microfiber cloth. It also had a note saying that Neil himself had inspected my knife for centering, lock up, lock rock, etc before he shipped it.

In my experience TNK and Neil are excellent to deal with, you just have to be very clear and concise in your questions and what you say. If you do have an initial misunderstanding, clear it up respectfully and Neil/TNK will treat you great!

Lastly, to the people saying he pre-judged you, any details there? I'm just curious to know how he pre-judged you or what the circumstances were.

I'd also like to hear more details from the people that said they were "prejudged"... is your feeling based on responses to email questions or in person interaction?

Email me^ and I will tell you what went down.
This is not the place to discuss this.

sechip - I never prejudged you - I merely judged you- I still have recorded your disgusting vulgar insensitive angry and aggressive voice mail you left when I was 25 minutes late posting Shirogorov knives one fine Saturday - the reason, as you knew very well, was that my elderly father, recently deceased, had locked himself in the washroom and due to his advanced Alzheimer's he was hysterical and panicking so I had to leave the office and get him out and calm him down - but this was not an acceptable excuse for you to have to wait 30 minutes past the appointed time for me to update the site.
This in addition to your repeated phone calls, sometimes every minute for an hour straight without leaving a simple message.

Rolf- your history really does say it all - if you have something to say then this indeed is the place to say it and not secretly behind scenes- as publicly you may actually have to tell the truth- and for the record I refused to sell you- not the other way.

To the others- I am not a knife nazi - I am approaching 20 years as a dealer and as this is my only means of making a living it must be something really serious if I will refuse an order - I am not allergic to money and need every sale- but I do have a big problem with guys who string me along, bullsxxtn me, jerk me around, tell lies, make phoney claims about the knives, buy a knife on a Thursday, put it on eBay over the weekend at a ridiculous high price, and then call on me on Monday to return it because "it doesn't feel good in the hand".
Not to forget the "hold it for me for a week while I gather the funds and then they vanish when I follow up- - I understand when stuff happens but a courtesy call or email to let me know that you have changed your mind would be all I would ask.
I work 7 days a week- I am always available by email or preferably by phone- we have a toll free number and unless I am out walking my dog I will always answer.

I am now in New Jersey at the ECCKS and will be off and offline until 3/23.

Anybody who would like to know more about me please call me when I am back.

Best regards. Neil Ostroff
