To 110, or not to 110, that is the question...

You should keep the 110's because "prevailing wisdom" states (quote) "Every collection (or accumulation) needs one or more." (end quote)

I’m with stevekolt stevekolt on this. I prefer the 112 and love to carry it horizontal in the Buck nylon sheath. In fact I prefer a vintage 112 Ecolite and hardly know it’s there when carried in this configuration. I actually parted with all my 110s because they are just too big & heavy for my tastes. Sacrilege to some, I know. If I need a knife that size I’ll reach for a fixed blade. Just my preference.

To me the 112 is so close to the 110, that if I'm going to have that much bulk then I want the 110 otherwise I prefer the 501, it's blade is only a 1/4" shorter than the 112. behind that would be the 500 its slimmer. One day I intend to put a 450 drop point in a nickel silver 112 and slim it down to a 500 size. I do prefer the front bolster on the 112.

My favorite is the 112FG, but somehow, I don't have one.

I guess because my 112 PaperStone fits the bill.

Well, it's been a month and I am still undecided. The 110 is a big and heavy knife. If I need a large blade I can use any of my fixed blades, or a 110 Slim Pro or Slim Select. For me, I find the 112 size much more comfortable in hand. I also prefer left front pocket carry for my EDC knife. So, keep an eye on the sale forum, I may be posting some of these for sale...the BOTM in the center has been sold.

At least you tried it for a good amount of time. Now you know what works best for you and that’s important! I know each person has their own preferences and individual tendencies that vary from others. Mine has changed over time and for different reasons of requirements and will probably continue to change with age and what I’m doing. Some day I might find a pair of scissors is more appropriate lol.

I'm still carrying my buck 110 as part of my experiment. A week or two ago I started carrying a second knife with it occasionally but I agree with the sentiment, as much as I've come to love the 110, I do agree the 112 is a little more balanced for general use.
But a 110 is still nice to have to change it up for a bit.

I think I'll stretch my personally challenge to 6 months with this 110. Just cause why not. :D

personal Preference!!

I can't even imagine field processing a deer with a 112. but I guess it will work.
