To Buy Blem or Not?

I have two 350 ts one brand new and one blem. If there wasn't the 4 x's on the blem you'd never tell the difference ;)

Got two blems from kershawguy, à 350sw and à 561.
350 is almost perfect but the 561 came with a pretty chipped
tip. Mechanically sound though. Sturdy beautys!

Thanks for the thread and opinions. But I've got a different angle. Besides sharpening services, if you needed a real repair - new parts - are you likely to be able to get satisfaction? If not, then is warranty all its cracked up to be? (I ask this because my foray into KAI-land was picking up a Storm from a tsa confiscation store (sigh) for $10. When I took it apart and asked a question, KAI told me they didn't have replacement parts, so that made me wonder. Steer me right here, I'm really a newbie...

Strictly speaking the warranty is only good for the original owner, although I don't imagine anyone checks.

I would not hesitate to purchase a blem from kershawguy. Bought a S30V Blur from him about 6 monyhs ago. It has seen a fair amount of use and held up well. Price was well below normal retail.

To collect I would NOT buy a blem. I have gotten a blem from Kershaw and as a user and beater knife its excellent.

I have an 0550 blem from Dave and it is my work edc...hell, it is my non work edc too! You will not be disappointed. This is the second blem I have gotten from Dave, the other is a Leek CB which I have relinquished to my son who uses it for work.

I think you have gotten a pretty unanimous opinion on getting a blem from Dave. Enjoy your purchase!

if you use it a lot go blem
if you just use it carefully it is hard too say but my mode is i buy knives too use. so i stay under $500 for most. which is high too use.

many i will trade, or resell and just keep the ones that fit well.

only few like ruffin johnsons i have, he died so they are off the use list.

buy the blem

Another reason to buy a NON blem: Kershaw to Offer Re-Blading for $10! ZT for $30!

The re-blade service is only good for non blem knives. Now the only real reason to buy a blem in my eye's is if you plan on modifying the knife, as the warranty and re-blade program pretty much covers EVERYTHING!

Kershaw/ZT just keeps raising the bar:thumbup:

I had decided to keep my Sebenza as my everyday user and really hadn't been playing around much on the forums (well knife forums anyway), and then I see this. And now the 301 versus Sebenza internal debate begins again with another check mark in the 301 Pro box.
