To sell and minimize? Wearing me out.

believe me ive had that 1 perfect knife dozens of times, over 30 years.youll find that perfect knife until the next one comes along, theres always something new and different around the corner....

The Sebenza seems to be that knife that people get frothy over or total ambivalence/underwhelmed about. It is a knife I wouldn't mind having in my collection, but I wouldn't pay anywhere near retail for. There have been a couple times where I've seen a certain damascus w/ inlay pattern that got me excited but I let it stew for a week and somebody bought it before I clicked buy.

Every so often, I like to downsize my collection, buy something nice, and let it grow again. I don't have a rotation of knives and will carry a particular one for a year or two (Boker Camp Knife right now). Then I'll find something that'll really excite me and start carrying it instead (Winkler F1). Eventually, I'll find something 'better' and sell them.

Fixed blades, I am down to three because they're the proverbial "perfect" knives for what I need to use them for: hunting, scouting/property maintenance, and camping. Next step would be full-on customs of what is essentially the same knives.

As for what you should do. Benchmade, Spydercos, and Sebenzas are all easily moved and replaced.

Downsizing is healthy. My New Years resolution was to downsize my collection. Since the New Year I've given away eighteen knives and sold one. No regrets. None at all.

My MT husband and I have done this with knives and firearms over the years too. We did it with other things in our household too.

We have no regrets.

My late husband and I did this with many of our personal and household items in thirty plus years of marriage. We had no regrets for anything that we gifted and/or sold.
