So, now that you guys schedules are a little more open, come on out to beautiful Eugene oregon, BeckerWest. Bring ethan, make him pay for it. You'll be the special guests of honor, we'll feed you smoked salmon and atomic buffalo turds. Free fatwood, as much as you can carry.

Well, provided nothing goes wrong between now and tomorrow, I should be zipping down to purchase my first firearm. Getting one of these:

Sig Sauer SP2022 in 9mm. Any suggestions or tips on anything I should know? I am taking ThePointyEnd down with me as he knows a good bit about guns, and I think we are going to head to a range shortly after picking it up.

Sweet! Let us know how you like that one. I have heard mixed reviews about it only because of the grip, which is very personal and I actually like it.

I went and held a ton of guns a few weeks back and that was the best fitting one I could find.

I think youre good to go then! That was the only complaint I ever heard. Oh and you are required to show target pictures!

Get night sights on it, keep your finger off the trigger until it's time to shoot it. learn how to chamber check it. Mostly training issues really.

Awesome! I will be home in half an hour to unpackage it.

see if they have anything bigger then 9mm......

;)

like the ol texas ranger said ''ya wanna know Why I carry a .45?? Cuz they dont make a .46!''

+10 on developing good handling habits.

Finger always off the trigger until on target.
Always check a gun handed to you - it's not rude, it's correct.
Always point in a safe direction EVEN AFTER YOU'VE CHECKED/CLEARED IT.

Eh.. on night sights. IMO if you can't see well enough to see the sights then you can't see the target well enough to have any business shooting at anything. Besides, with some training you'll never even need or see the sights in CQB low-light situations. Anything further away and you won't have an excuse to be shooting at it in the dark as a civilian. And there's usually plenty of light at the range...
(got night sights on my Kimber - cool factor is high, usefulness low)

Nice purchase Derek! My next will either be a FS Sig or S&W M&P. Just need a little more range time with them to make the decision. Sig's night sights are great, btw. I'd highly recommend them.

oh crap....Its almost April! I been meaning to do this all month! Dammit! Too preoccupied modding beckers and learning how-to Kydex!

I may miss this, hafta to be gone all day tomorrow.

OK, I decided on a partial etch of the BK14. Hopefully the paint mask holds up and this turns out as planned. Into the bleach my friend!

Eta: I like the etch pattern, but should have gone deeper on the blade. Still, the method worked, so that's encouraging.
