To what degree do you let the sheeple factor dictate you knife carry?

Greetings you all:)

I have fairly big hands so the bigger knives just fit better.

However this means a bigger blade as well.

I would very much like to carry my Endura/SE, SS Police/SE or my fully serrated Endura all the time.

However I don't because of what the reactions may be from NKP when using that knife in public.

Instead it's the Delica or Subcom for me:grumpy:

I would very much like to know what your opinion is about this.

if you are legal carrying the larger blade, why let the reactions of people around you affect your decision? Personally, I'm not going to let what I do be chosen by people who react from kneejerk emotion and not from reason.

The SHEEPLE have 100% say-so in dictating what I carry. In New Mexico where I reside, there is no limit to the size of knife a person may carry, so long as it is not "concealed". Therefor, the more the SHEEPLE are aghast, the bigger blade I display. I worry and am affected only when they are emotionless. :D

sheeple shmeeple. NM is indeed a great place to live with regards to knives/guns... I did have some co-workers give me shit about my TDI when I first started carrying it... almost to a person they all approached me later to find out where to get one.

Not at all. On the other hand, my partially serrated Wegner, Sr. is heavy, rides poorly on the seam of dress slacks, and is basically overkill around the office environment!

I could care less what the sheeple think!
When I am inn Boston, I carry a knnife that has no more than a 2 1/2 inch blade, because that is the LAW.

Around my way the " Sheeple " are well armed. Knives are good back up imo.

How do you know that you're not Sheople ?

I tend to carry a folding locking blade of about 3" to keep it kosher with the courts. In a more delicate environment such as office/blacktie event/interview/etc I'll carry a nice looking, small slipjoint to use if need be so as to not offend "people of interest" if you know what I mean.

I try to avoid annoying the sheeple. That won't stop me from carrying tacticool, but if I'm in their presence I'll try to use something friendlier, as a courtesy. And, SAK's work pretty good anyways:cool:

I don't. With many things in my life I let personal preference dictate what I do rather than the reactions of others. My knives, my appearance, the tricks I do on my skateboard etc. I have larger hands too, so an Endura or Byrd Cara Cara feels much better than their smaller counterparts (Both of which I've tried and traded off because my hand was cramped). I've talked to a few of the local police departments and most of them just told me the state law when questioned about knives (For Ohio that's any knife that is concealed can be considered illegal, though enforcement will of course vary). It's hard to find specifics about laws here in Ohio, but the only length restrictions I've heard of is a 4 inch limit for another county. Works fine for me. I do keep a Vic Classic on my keychain and I just received a Buck Hartsook neck knife which I've started to carry. I just like having a smaller knife for certain tasks where using a 3.5 inch blade would feel cumbersome. I've only been questioned about my knives once or twice, never by the authorities. Of course, I only use my knives for cutting, not for showing off, so I like to think that helps. :)

I say let the sheeple carry their indestructible clamshell packaged crap to the grave unopened!

I carry an Endura and I guess it could be intimidating to some but it's not against the law so I'm going to carry it.

Da hell with sheeple. I use to let them get to me, even stopped EDC my Manix. but now, meh. dont care what they have to say. ill care any legal knife that i want.

my carry so far ha been just what ever ends up being legal.. or well close enough (butterflys are not allowed in VA but ive never carried it much cause it is rather heavy). as long as it is legal here i dont worry (the local sherif deputies even said just carry anything bigger than the palm of my hand on a belt and its cool, only problem i have is that my shirt covers half the knife, mostly the handle so im not sure if that is enough to conciter it consealed).

gotten some weird looks but what ever, we have enough rednecksih people around here its not wierd, now when i move to collage next year is when i might have to deal with the sheeple since there are so many people and wont want to have to deal with issues that i just wont have the time to deal with.

Never! I fully expect the world to accommodate my knife fetish no matter how ridiculous it is.

Here it affects me enough because I have seen people have panic attacks from seeing a knife...so I carry a smaller blade for EDC usage and if I have a larger blade for SD or deep utility, I make sure it is a low rider in the pocket.

When I am down the Eastern Shore or in the Rural South, everyone has a big ass knife so I don't really have to worry about it.
