Todays Hike

Man, I wish I was down there with you Jake. I love Missouri...pretty state.
 
That looks like a nice day for sure! Surprisingly, I don't think we are all that far behind you weather wise. We have some crocus and iris shoots coming up now. However, the forest flow is still brown and no sign of the trout lilies or irises yet.

Baldtaco - yeah skeeters and black flies are coming soon! I happen to be blessed in being in the one little part of Ontario without black flies....Lots of skeeters though!
 
Oh man, so jealous J, its still around 0*c or what 32 fahrenheit. Its nice, short and t-shirt for me, but not as nice as it was in your spot, jerk.:D

Same here, I have a good number of friends here locally, but they prefer to either camp out at the bar, or turn a camp out into a drunk-fest. Dont get me wrong, nothing wrong with having a bonfire and some frosties, but sometimes you need the quiet wilderness, and some dirt under your nails.
Man, now I want a beer:D
 
Yeah, same here. I got alot of friends to bike with, and some to drink with. Hell I grew up with the bonfire beer-fests, but damn, sometimes it would be nice to talk blades and gear and take in the trail with likeminded fellows...

Same deal here - The only person, besides my wife, that wants to go camping with only wants to go camping to drink and get away from his wife.

I enjoy hitting the trail with my wife and now my son.

It would be nice to shoot the sh!t about blades and such while on the trail. I do enjoy being out there by myself most times though.
 
Beautiful, it is amazing more people do not see the need to get away from civilization, even for just a day hike. It makes the rest of my day seem so complete, just being in touch with nature's quiet. Thanks for bringing me back to my Friday hike with the kids!
