Sent my Commander to Mr. Krein for his trademark .010 regrind. It was a great knife when it left and it came back epic.

It cuts like a ninja and looks awesome. I'm sending him my Grip next and i'd recommend his services to anyone here. :D

Lucian---THAT- is how a knife should look!! Outstanding! Too bad Emerson won't offer to do this on THEIR knives. But it doesn't matter now. Tom reground my HD-7 to perfection. He is a Master. Thanks for the pics!

I'd love to get my hands on a lefty HD-7 and have it reground by Tom, but i've never even seen a lefy HD. :(

That might have to be a Custom, Bro! Good luck. My HD-7 is my sharpest folder, without a doubt!! Is your Commander you sharpest folder? I would say---YES!

Blop---You gotta see it and use it to believe it! It's one of the Sharpest grinds out there today. It is right there with my Leu and Hartsfield knives.

Well, what is the "trademark 0.010 grind?

It means that the blade is 0.010" thick at the point where the edge grind meets the primary grind (riiiiiiight next to the edge).

That's quite a bit thinner than most knives, and will really enhance the way a knife cuts.

No joke - before i sent my Commander to Mr. Krein, it was my favorite knife but also pretty much dead last in cutting ability in my collection.

Now none of my knives even come close to this monster. :D

Yes, i see. Indeed, most edges are far thicker and a commanders were often considered to a reprofiling.

Well, on my Griptilian this part is double as thick, say 0.02"! How does this thin edge (about 0.25 mm) affect the ability to cut hard materials? Any experiences?

The knife looks great this way, no doubt, and perfectly executed by Mr. Krein.

I had an idea, what 0.01" may mean but wasn´t sure.

Enjoy and share impressions please.

If I could afford a commander I would send it to him. Does anyone know if he does the same treatment for fixed knives?

Wow that looks amazing! I think I am gonna have to get that done on my Commander or HD-7 in the future. Mind me asking how much it cost yah?

It cuts just fine, but obviously, you have to be careful not to twist or put any sideways torque on the knife. The edge also lasts longer, as you use a lot less pressure to cut anything. They also re-sharpen very, very quickly, no matter what metal.

That's a nice looking knife!

Tom reground my small classic Sebenza and it is incredible! If you want your knife to cut like nothing else in the world then HE IS THE MAN! My Sebenza is the best cutter I have evered owned and I have other Sebenzas that are good but not in the reground Sebenza league!
