When are they gonna make a regular more affordable version of this knife. It's so beutiful. But it's way out of my price range for the time being n

Ok, this is a guess based on what Case has done in the past...they won't make a "regular more affordable version" of this or any other so called Case/Bose Collaboration knife. I know that's not what you wanted to hear but these are made much differently than their regular factory run knives. I assume the collabs wouldn't seem as special if they knocked out a $60 version of them.

I would give the ebony back pocket a try if you want something slightly similar but for 1/3 the price.

I know they made a different version of the Yukon Jack, but it still had premium steel and was not cheap. I believe they have made some damsacus versions of one or two patterns, but they also were not cheap. It would undercut the marketing strategy to offer cheaper versions.

You're looking at this the wrong way. The Case/Bose knife IS a regular, more affordable version of the real thing - a Tony Bose custom! When you look at it like that, the Case/Bose knives are an incredible bargain!!

Compare them side-by-side and you'll see:

Dr. Bill.

I agree with you 100%. I have the "real thing" from some of the best...The Bose Brothers, Ken E., Terry Davis, to name a few. I also have most of the collabs--save 1 or 2. To me, the Collabs are the closest knives one can get, for way less money, and they are worth every penny!

Case does build them different and Better than their standard production line. With The Old Dog giving them advice, how can't they?? :D:D

Until you hold/handle/fondle or do whatever you do with a Collab, you won't know how nice they are.

Just got my ebony tribal spear. My only real complaint is the extremely dull tip. The edge is shaving sharp everywhere else, just a little disappointing to be able to put the tip on your skin and twirl it without bleeding you know? Great slim profile, useful edge shape, feels great in the pocket. Definitely a winner here in this pattern. I got the ebony to match my norfolk, but I think I like the bone better for this particular pattern so I may sell mine and pick up a different handle material.

Cant wait to find out what next years Case/Bose will bring us!

I just bought my second chestnut bone Tribal Spear. One to use and the other one....well, to keep nice :) I really love this pattern and for a >4" knife it carries so well in my front pocket. Perfect pull and snap that can be pinched open.

I have two of the Case/Bose tribal knives. One abalone and one chestnut. I like 'em both a lot, but, I'm thinking I may sell them both to get a genuine Bose knife. By the time I save up the rest of the money, maybe he'll get to my name on the list.???

My second chestnut bone tribal spear arrived this week and it is perfect, just like the first one. The interesting thing is the first one I have has been banging around in my front pocket with keys and change on and off for the past two weeks. There are NO marks or scuffs when I compare it to the new one. The brushed finish on the bolsters seems to hold up well to wear. Some other knives I have, such as my GEC dogleg, took on small scratches very quickly. Not so with the tribal spear.

I also ordered the tribal spear in antique bone....two that is. One for later and one I tote almost every day. Really impressed with it's feel, looks, and perfect size for me. Very slight alignment issue due to machineing tightness between liners and how the blades rest but small and seems to get better as the knife is used the first day or two. Overall VERY happy with it.

Just bumping this one in anticipation of receiving a chestnut and ebony I ordered earlier this week :-)

Any more pictures from you guys/gals?

Great! I've been on the lookout for an ebony version too. I carry my chestnut more than any other knife.
