That is awesome TW.

Paden, congrats on the move, hopefully it will be somewhat fruitful for you!

Mrn8 post up some pics when you get it!

Maybe its just me but the head on the Trailhawk seemed smaller than I expected--still love it though

Yeah, I got a Frontier hawk about a month ago that im trying to find the time to work on. I was trying to decide between the that one and the trailhawk. I liked the look of the wider blade on the frontier hawk but now I will have both to compare and chop double fisted like a crazy person.

Congrats on the new place and the new toy, Paden!

Here's the new one (in the back). Deer rifle in the front, 'yote rifle in the back.

Nice looking rifles. I'm looking forward to when the craze dies down and .308 becomes available again. I think I've decided on the GAP-10 for the AR-10, and a Rem 700 XCR for the bolty.

I've got all the components to load 500 rounds of 308...except the primers. I'm guessing those won't hit the shelves for a while after the factory ammo catches up to demand.

I've been agonizing between a 15 and a 17 for a while now...i was hoping i'd have solved it by now. i suppose i could have just purchased each one by this point

Sooooo you say your on the fence about the 15

Welllllll almost everyone says things like "The 15 is the best steak knife you will ever own" and "Its great in the kitchen"
What doesn't get said enough is "Its a Becker!" you can beat it like a red headed step child and it will grin at you stupidly, and ask for more.
YES it is slimmer and thinner. YES it is great for food prep.
However knives of almost identical design were used for EVERYTHING by men who needed their knife to survive, in a era when you couldn't say "welp, I'm dont camping time to head to McDonald's...." Because everyone was camping, by today's standards...lol
The 15 will do anything you need a knife for, including battoning, of appropriate sized sticks.
Obviously its not for chopping down trees, but dont write it off as a kitchen knife. Get one and use the hell out of it, because its a great knife.
I wouldn't call it a survival knife, because that name implies that the knife is massively overbuilt and can be abused beyond common sense.
I would however say that you can survive quite nicely with a 15, especially when you consider that it IS thicker stock than the french trade knives that I believe were the heart of its inspiration.
I LOVE my 15 and just because I wanted its soul to show I tricked one out.

Went for a longboard ride to clear the old noggin. Wind was kicked up pretty good, so I either had headwind or tailwind.
Braved a hill I hadn't tried previously. Maybe it was the small batch bourbon I'd imbibed, but the hill seemed pretty easy once I got going.
No falls, nothing broken. That's always a plus at my age. Looking forward to longer days and less precipitation so I can get out and ride more.

how bad did he ding ya for? hopefully not the new cost of the 2 tarps he was looking for?
