A few of my friends are also knife nuts and usually have one with them. So do any of you have situations where there's something that needs too be cut, and then you all rush to get your knife out first? When i'm with my friends it often happens where we all just kinda stand around wondering whose going to do the task.

Even if everyone present has a knife, they know mine will be the sharpest of the bunch :D

what?! Its not even a fixed blade.

Sheeple can't see such "subtle" differences as fixed/folding. He just said I was crazy for carrying around a rambo-knife...

Chuck289, you should consider yourself lucky. Imagine if you were surrounded by people that would scream and call the cops on you every time you pulled out a knife to cut something.

all my idiot friends can ask when they see one of my knives is "how much did that cost" man i hate that-they laugh at the cost,so i have to mention to them -did you do any coke this month and how much booze did you buy-bet this knife cost less so shut the f!@# up

Lol! looked up sheeple! Great word Im keeping that one... or maybe I wont be a sheeple and not use it!

Locking and fixed blades are illegal in England, so pulling one out isnt really a good idea.

Tazers pepper spray, flick knives, knuckledusters are all illegal. you can keep a flickknife in your own home if you had it before the ban I think though

Well, it won;t be long here in the U.S. before everything's illegal. The poor Brits have been stripped of everything to defend themselves with. Legislation is in the works here too, to gently ease into a weaponless society.

Please see the sticky thread at the top of this forum about knife rights. Join and fight the trembling, frightened "banner brigade."

No sense in standin there waiting. Take control of the situation. First one out of pocket and on the task wins.... LOL

We went out to dinner last night with our best friends and when they brought the bread to the table, it was not sliced and no knife on the table, so I pulled out my Spyderco ATR and sliced it. You should have seen the looks on my friends faces! Priceless! I have known these people for 35 years, grew up with them and apparently they still don't know me, they looked like they had seen a ghost! "put that away, put that away!" they said. The waitress thought it was great and asked to see it so we talked about knives for a couple minutes and finally my friends wife picked it up and started admiring it, but did pick it up with two fingers like it was a snail or something like someone else had mentioned on the forums before, then made the comment, Honey, this is what you need. When we got back to my house I showed him my collection and he picked out the Spyderco native and said, "I like this one" I'm guessing he'll get hooked.

Well, sounds like telescopic baton is the way to go

The Brits are pretty ingenious. Somebody there would figure out how to fill the end of the baton full of molten D2, then file and hone an edge on it.

Most of my friends dont carry knives. Heck ive always got at least 2 on me, 2 in my truck. Never know when the need arises. Im like a well prepared Boy Scout.

The worst is when you're in a field that uses knives, like Technical theater and you'd expect knife nuts, but everyone carries Gerber :( and maglite :(:( Or some really hoopty autos. I keep my friends well-supplied, my roommate carries a spyderco Merlin and my neighbor has a brand new byrd crossbill, my girlfriend has a spyderfly. :)

Usually the only one in the crowd to carry or even own a knife. Mostly every one knows and doesn't hesitate to come to me or ask when they need a knife. I never give it to them to use, I do the cutting and then put it back IWB. I even carry on the job in a corporate management office environment with no strange looks or comments, although there are a few self righteous "sweater over the back" types at work that I would never bring it out around. They'd faint!!!
