Top 3 Most Iconic Buck Knives?

Finally a 500 series knife, way more iconic than some generic stockman that was pumped out ffor every knife manufacturer in the past 60 years.....

Good point, compared to something like the 124, which is a Buck original design.

I figured the 110 and the 119 would be on the list. The 301 took me by surprise, I thought the third would be another 100 series fixed blade.

Interesting how everyone says 110 and 119. It's always the third one that is the wild card.

I'll go with 110, 119, and 124.

You know, I carried a 303 or a 301 for years, but right now I am a 300 'collector' and EDC either a small Vantage or a elk 309. Deer hunt with a Selector.

What you people seem to talk about most (in order) are : 110,112, 119, 124, Bucklites, 300s, Vantages and 500s. You throw in what ever is new and 'hot' but that list is the bread and butter of the Buck Forum.

300

#112~~ have the most of --21
#110 ~~ many a Deer & Hog have been cleaned by the big one.*
#124 ~~ most more or less tied for 3rd .^^

I almost started out with a Buck #110 for my 1st. knife but my Uncle bought me a German Knife.! End of that story.*

112 First knife from Cousin
110 Second Knife from Cousin
119 Just Love the Fit, Feel, Function

KEEP EM SHARP

110
119
118

At least when I think of Buck knives, those come to mind first.
Everyone makes a slip joint and everyone makes a fixed blade. How many knives have been around virtually unchanged for a half-century or so? Those are the icons in my opinion.

Not even a whisper of the BUCKMASTER 184???? It has a book bigger than the entire history of Buck book...

I think we look at the 184 and see a Warrior knife. Then we look and say hey I can buy a really fancy 119 or 124 for that price. I do support everyone who wants one to have one. Batoning seems to be more of a popular action than war training.

I am feeling that my jump out of airplanes or skid to the beach in a rubber raft days are way way over. I feel good just being able to cross my legs to tie my shoes......football players get in hot water to heal up, I get in it just to loosen up.

I guess you would consider I need a pencil batoning knife. 300

I would say that both the 110 and 119/120 are pretty recognizable to the general public and could be considered iconic. I doubt that any non-knut would be able to tell the difference between the 119 and 120.

As for my favorites:

1. 501
2. 500
3. 110

I think the 110 is the all around winner on everyone's list with the 119 in second. The question asked by the op is for the most iconic and not the most favorite, collected, or carried and used.

As far as most iconic.

Most iconic to me - 110, 119, 124.

Although if I had to pick one from each catagory it would be - 110, 119, 301.

Most collected - 110, 119, 124.

Most carried and used - 525, 112, and the 347 vantage.

Most iconic I would say 110,119,112

Most loved by me 112,426,110,119.

There is just something about Buck knives. The way they feel, the way they cut, the way they sharpen. You can never get a bad one or have to many.

And Merry Christmas to all. And may Santa bring you all a Buck new old doesn't matter.

I think that the 110 and 112 can't both be in the top 3 iconic list together, since most people could not tell them apart if they only saw a photo of one. In either case the non-connoisseur would say, "Buck knife". They may be your favorite two, but even that is like saying, "My two favorite brands of coffee are Starbucks large and Starbucks medium." Don't get me wrong, I like them both, but they're not different enough to grab two spots on the list. Just my two cents.

You have a point. Someone that is not a knife nut like my self, probably would not recognize the difference between a Buck 110 and the 112. And they possibly would not care for the difference in the Bucklite to its original 110 brother. So with that thought I would have to amend my previous list to

Buck 110,119,and the 703. I always thought the 700 series stood out out from all the stockman series from other companies.
