Top 5 favorite knife acquusitions for 2017

Almost ashamed to post this after looking over everyone else's post...

1. KW exclusive Rat 1 in D2 with orange scales.
2. LM Wingman for my 16 y.o. nephew.

I'm in the process of downsizing my toys.

PS. I did buy a Walther CCP 9mm in OD Green.

Gazz, no need to be ashamed. I admire thrift and life simplifying. I have done the same. Started the year with dozens and dozens of knives. Down to about 8 now working my way to a final total of 6 and then I think I am out of the knife game. Since I did more selling than buying I did not end up with 5 new this year. But my favorites for this year are -

CRK Blade HQ exclusive Seb 21 with CF inlays. Amazing!
CRK Wilson Startac Inkosi. What a tank.

That’s it. I bought others but they were turned around and sold.

If memory serves, I’ve only acquired two knives in 2017! ...but they are goodies! 1. A CRK Large Inkosi Natural Micarta and, 2. A RHK 3.5” Non Flipper Slicer XM18. They’re not my first from each maker, by a long shot, but they have been my favs, and total workhorses.

1) TAD Hawk, by a long shot;
2) Fox Terzuola 525Ti; and
3) Boker Smith SD3, very recent acquisition so I'm probably just in the honeymoon phase, but, so far it is a homerun.

I only bought four knives this year.

A Kershaw Emerson Cqc4kxl (actually tested it to destruction, reprofiled the blade, and carry it as a beater)

A damascus scalpel from Phillip Patton (use it nearly daily for art projects)

A custom 7" fighter from CMFTW (awesome)

and a ringed "EDC" small fixed blade from Argus Knives.

I love them all.

I would like to see that ringed Argus edc Knife. As you can tell it fits my recent faze.

1. Tops Cut 4.0
2. Ka-Bar Snody Snakecharmer
3. Tops Tex Creek xl
4. Ka-Bar Becker BK16 Saber Grind
5. Spyderco Manix 2 xl

Honorable mention to the ontario 12 inch camper machete. Best value for sure.

That G&G Hawk dauntless looks amazing. I have long wanted a dauntless but put off getting them because of their rarity and price. Also on the TAD models if you look at the lockside, it seems the body screws go straight into the Ti side. (Through the g10 into he ti)

How is that Fox Terzoula. It looks really nice. One of the nicer knives Fox has put out. I wonder how the quality is as fox makes wonderful knives but I don’t see many full high end Ti framelocks by them.

The Terzoula looks like it is being pushed as their flagship model. I ask because last model I saw from fox of that quality was the Fox Desert Fox, which intrigued me but I didn’t like the damascus blade or handle shape. The Terzoula looks perfectly shaped to me.
Fox Desert Fox.

I'm enjoying it so far Lape. Can't really fault it and it ticks all my boxes for an edc ti framelock.

I have just started buying quality knives, but the 5 below are just amazing IMO...

Ruko/Fox Predator-2 N690Co - Great value for a nearly indestructible Italian made knife. Very high quality for under a hundred bucks.

Spyderco Para 3 s30V - liked the ergonomics of this so much that I ordered a 2nd with a partially serrated blade. Perfect knife for me.

Benchmade Griptilian 154CM - My first BM and the full size Grip in basic 154CM is still a great value. The handles feel cheap and plastic-y initially, but it IS a rock solid knife.

Spyderco Pacific Salt H1 - My wife bought this for me today for Christmas, but it is just what I need for around the water in the summer. Sharp out of the box and great ergos for me for such a big knife. I haven’t sharpened it yet and I expect the H1 will need sharpening a lot. I love the yellow FRN as well.

Spyderco Manix 2 BD1 - My first Spyderco and first “expensive” knife. The BD1 blade is ok as it still looks like new after months of hard use (no rust, patina, staining), but does need sharpening quite often. Luckily it isn’t hard to sharpen. This may be bumped out of my top 5 when my Gayle Bradley 2 arrives on Wed...

Sandrin Knives Clemente

Pure innovation, and addictive as hell to flip.

You actually own that knife? I found its ad abit corny. How do you sharpen the tungsten carbide? I thought the knife looked WAY too thick.

I know the Clemente is a folder, but I thought this looked more promising than Sandrin’s fixed blades when it comes to fixed blades.

Also Sandrin’s 30 day warranty I consider an insult for anknife at that price.
