Top 5 production knives that you carry..

My carries lately:
Emerson Endeavor
Emerson mini-CQC15
Emerson CQC7AW
Emerson micro-Commander
Benchmade Volli

My suggestion for serrated tanto... Emerson CQC7S

Well now that I read your question I realize just how boring my 5 knives are, kind of a one company show.

1 - CRK Tanto Umnumzaan
2 - CRK Large Insingo - plain
3 - CRK Large 21 - plain
4 - CRK Umnumzaan with Southard backspacer
5 - CRK Mnandi with Ebony

I can say that I realized that I carried a SAK and my Warren Thomas model 6 today because they're both in my pack, but that's very rare. I think I'm gonna go dig out an old Benchmade.

Every day at work: SOG Trident

Rotation outside of work: Spyderco Manix2 lightweight and Delica4 FRN, ZT 0770CF & 0350, CRKT KISS ASSist

1. Vic SAK Tinker or Super Tinker one is always on me.
2. Buck Vantage small. Great small edc and shepple friendly.
3. Ganzo 704. Great budget knife, someday I'll own an original.
4. Timberline Vallotton locking liner. Had this one for over a decade it's one of the best knives I've ever handled, the ergos are almost perfect.
5. Leatherman Core or Wingman is also always on me or in the bag.

If we're talking main EDC blade, then these:

~ Spyderco Manix II Lightweight
~ Spyderco Endura 4 FFG
~ Spyderco PM2
~ Spyderco Sage 1
~ ZT 0566 (when I need something heavy)

~ {RAT-1 gets honorable mention}

Dang...wish I had some serious money to get some of those more expensive pieces! Thanks for the warm replies everyone, I have to disagree on half serration though, I end up cutton a lot of rope in the woods and serration makes a HUGE difference.

I'm not a big fan if half serration as well BUT WHATEVER WORKS FOR YOU MAN!
After all it's a tool to help you do your daily duties.

You're missing Benchmade, my most carried are the 710 and 550 Griptilian.

If you really wanna try something different (and the laws permit you) try carrying a small fixed blade. JK Knives is a custom maker in this forum, he has great pocket fixed blades that could be had under $100. On the affordable side look at the Bk-11 or the CRKT Minimalist (available in tanto).

Hey all,

I currently rotate between a Buck Spitfire, Kershaw Emerson, CRKT m-16, and Spyderco Delica 4 FRN. What is another knife I could add that would round out my collection? I have a fondness for tanto blades, and prefer a half serration, but am open to all suggestions. Have been mowing over a Cold Steel Voyageur, an M-21, and a something from Zero Tolerance (but don't have the money really.) And.....GO!

Your EDC rotation looks really good to me already. Any of the knives you are looking at now would be a fine addition, IMHO. I have had several ZTs come and go, but for a similar feel and aesthetic you might try out any of the Ontario Utilitac II offerings. I have been very pleased with mine and beefy, kinda-tactical but useful designs remind me a lot of ZT. Although this configuration is not exactly my cup of tea, the Utilitac is also available in half-serrated tantos:

The 5 production knives that I seem to carry most often are (in no order):
1. Spyderco CF Caly 3
2. Spyderco Waved Matriarch 2
3. Spyderco Dragonfly Salt PE
4. Leatherman Squirt P4
5. Victorinox Tinker

I have arguably "nicer" knives but these 5 end up in my pockets most often. I can warm up to my Para 2 and my ZT0561 seems to just collect dust. I like them, but never seem to get around to carrying them.
