I'm sniffing around for a new EDC that is a bit on the smaller side. Not "tiny". Just not too big and heavy. I'd like the closed length to be @ 4-4.25 " at the most.

I'm liking the Native 5 so far. Great S35VN blade , beautiful back lock , good-looking and compact. This time around I want a nice discreet knife to carry anywhere. The Chaparral , although attractive , has a paper-thin blade and I hate a blade that is too thin. So that one is out of the running.

What else do you think ?

The Cento3 is a great EDC imho but the may be too thin and "tiny" for your liking.
The Dialex Jr. is another EDC I love. People read the description and think "beginner", but I see VG-10, a compression lock, and nice ergonomics for as low as $124 from some retailers.
My last suggestion is the C67GFP "R" Sprint. It's a bit beefier than expected but I'd classify it as medium sized. But now it's less than $120!
<3 Nishijin CF

Just a few of my fav's.

Pretty happy with my Native 5
I would've went with the Chap if I wanted smaller

For a smaller EDC try Kershaw RAM, discontinued now but what a great knife! You can really choke up on the knife with that choil in the blade, very very comfortable.

I don't own one yet but the Caly 3 carbon fiber looks like a great edc knife.

BM 707 makes for a fine small-ish EDC..... hahaha, actually the Chapparal is my fav small spydie.

You can't beat an Endura or a Delica for EDC. They are both great knives that are lightweight and pretty thin. I carry an endura, and even though it is fairly large I don't even know it is there. Be careful with the pocket clip though. Mine got a little loose and it is hard to find a wrench that small. Also they aren't expensive so you don't have to worry about stuff happening to it as much. Just my opinion though.

My wife just gave me a Meerkat, it is a pretty neat little knife, for sure very small.

I like the Chaparral, but I also am a fan of the Persian 2 75mm. You can still pick one up.

The 707 is a bit too small. I have one and it's nice , just a little on the tiny side. The MPR is a sick blade. That thing is small but very heavy. Too heavy for me as a discreet EDC.

The Native 5 looks to be a top contender. But the Sage 4 has my attention as well. And lately I like wood scales over the same drab G10 and aluminum. It's nice to change things up now and then.

I have to admit , researching a new knife is half the fun for me.

Another vote for the Techno!

Has not left my pocket since I bought it a couple of weeks back.

Unobtrusive and highly effective for any day to day needs. Have used it to cut my sons pizza, hot dogs etc.,all in public places without anyone even giving me a

second look. Very solid.

Oooh yea... as many of you probably know, a gray Super Blue Delica, Endura, and Stretch are set to be released May~December 2013 :D
Ugh, now I need to decide... leaning towards the Stretch though.

Well in the world of Spyderco I have decided on either the Native 5 or Sage 4. But there are other manufacturers that I may consider as well.
