Top Soddie?

It depends on what criteria are most important to you, but from the threads that have been posted here on the forum, it would seem that Case gets top billing for fit and finish and blade steel (cv).

That said, I love my stag handled Queen and Moore Maker (Camillus) sodbusters as well.

I love my 1 dot Case Soddie. He's always ready to work yet still has a playful side as you can see here as he catches a piggyback ride from his friend Oliver Twist. He can cut all day and with just a few slides down the strop he is ready to go the next day. He always stands up for the smaller knives when the tacticals (they can be a mean bunch) tease them and is always happy to lend a hand when the steak at Outback is a little tough to cut with the oversized butter knives the give ya there.

I'll have to go with Case in CV. For a while I was really into the soddies, and had one from just about everyone. Overall the Case was the one I'd pick to go down the trail with.

Hello Absintheur, what's the name of the knife below the sodbuster? Interesting one, is the handle made of Kraton? Thanks!

It looks like a Cold Steel Twistmaster - it has a ring lock like an Opinel. Long discontinued... Came in at least two sizes; the large one was huge with about a 5" blade.

MG_Saldivar called it right, it is Cold Steel Twistmaster and as you can see it make my full sized Soddie look small. As said it works just like the Opinel but heavier made. The handle is kraton and the blade is carbonV. You can still find them NIB online. There were three styles made, the clip like mine, a tanto, and a drop point.

Thanks, All! The Queen Sodbuster with the Red handles is nice too! I'm deciding.

I have a Queen in black delrin.
Who sells a Queen Soddie in Stag?

It was apparently an SFO and my buddy Thomason was kind enough to sell me his a year or two back.

The Case remains my favorite overall for its light weight and super sharp blade but the Queen certainly is a keeper and finds itself in the pocket from time to time.

I have CASE and a German Bull in stag which is better than you might think.
Anybody have any experience with Böker sodbusters in carbon made in Argentina? I'm getting an urge for one.

The Boker Cinch sod buster....I have one. It looks a little rough right now but it's gets evil sharp. I leave in my desk drawer at work and use it deanimate oranges and cut my sammiches in half.

I've only tried out three brands of sodbuster, Kissing Cranes (which was a disappointment), large & small Böker (with which I'm quite pleased), large & small Case 213x SS (which are quite good), and the large & small Case 313x CV (which are excellent).

--[ I should mention that I have a tiny (3" closed) no-name soddie, probably made in Pakistan, that's not bad, but it's poorly finished and a little fat. ]--

Fit & finish on the Case line is superb. Steel in the CV is first rate.

So, with my limited experience, I will vote Case 313x CV.
