Two questions about TOPS knives. 1. What is your favorite TOPS knife? 2. And what is the most ridiculous TOPS model name you've seen?

I know TOPS doesn't get any love on this forum. Most here seem to think they're sharpened pry bars. And some of their models indeed are, but maybe that's what some of us here want.:) Anyway, my favorite TOPS knives are the Condor Alert and the Mountain Lion. (They tied for first place. I can't decide which I like more.) Condor Alert, sadly, is out of production. Sometimes they bring back old models though. Great survival/camp knife, with good size. Mountain Lion, another great survival/camp knife, but much smaller sized.

As for the most ridiculous name on one of their knives, I just saw one named "HOG". It ain't what you think though, not a pig sticker. HOG stands for "hunter of gunmen". I kid you not. Hunter of Gunmen, seriously? Almost makes me want one because of the ridiculous name, which is laser printed on the knife. The novelty of it I guess.:D

The Cockpit Commander always makes me chuckle a little. Only knife I've owned by them was the Back Bite. Well built for sure, very, very reminiscent of ESEE. Edge didn't come very sharp (by knife nut standards) but overall I was satisfied at it's price point. I sent it to "Jeff carte" / "Eugene Black"/ "Nocturnal Knives"/ "Karg Knives" out for some custom scales and unfortunately it was never returned. I still consider repurchasing one from time to time.

I'm waiting for Tops to make something called the "Secret Weapon"

It would be a hit with prosecutors. All the "intent" built right in.

Where to begin? Devil's Elbow? Seattle Street Scalpel? Grim Ripper?

If pressed I might have to go with Cockpit Commander because it just makes me giggle and sounds like an insult.

Like "That marcinek is a total cockpit commander, if you know what I mean."

Yes. They said that.

I like the style of the desert nomad. I like the name felony stop or shark heat.
Tops knives are made by Rowen right?

I think they were made by Rowen. Now they do all production themselves, I think. They have their own factory in Idaho.

I like to carry the TOPS Wolf Pax out on hikes. It's the 10" hatchet/3.5" blade Wolf Pup in a combo sheathe. The names are actually reasonable as far as TOPS goes, and they are pretty useful cutting tools too. Nobody has accused me of being "over-knifed" or a Rambo wannabe while using them--a definite plus.

I do like my BOB. It’s a solid knife I use camping most weekends on my land. I wouldn’t say I’d buy another but I feel that I’ve gotten my money’s worth out of it.

The bartender defender is pretty dumb. Actually some of their stuff looks like it was designed by an 8 year old.

I only own one TOPS knife, the Skymarshall HP.
It is a very cool looking knife! Totally impractical, however. Unless you are in need of a dedicated survivalknife, which I am not.

The only Tops I own is a Mini Scandi Knife. It's an awesome little guy if you don't feel like lugging a 2lb behemoth into the woods.

As for names, Prather War Bowie while ridiculous, fits that knife like a glove.

My favorite is the Mini Scandi.

I just wished they brought it out in a stainless steel.
