TOPS knives: your favorite knife and most ridiculous model name

I once had a Ute pass through my hands. It was a short and VERY stout knife. I can't, for the life of me, understand the point. It's not long enough to get enough leverage either with the blade of handle, to need that thickness. The short blade would keep it from batoning wood more than an inch thick, so it's also not for batoning strength. I have no clue what the point was.

That said, the Scandi Trekker has been on my list for a while. 3.5" blade with a 4" handle is usually a pretty good combo for a compact woods knife. At .130" thickness, it's also not going to be a "sharpened prybar" so it's got that going for it as well.

As for goofy names... there are just too many. the "Apache Down," the "Armageddon," "Baghdad Bullet"... I mean, it's like they have a teenager in charge of naming, and he only interrupts playing Counter Strike just long enough to name a knife and then go back to his game.

I've always liked the Prather, maybe one day I'll get it. The only one I have from them is the BOB, and maybe I will order the mini scandi folder soon. As for the names, some of them are downright silly and threads have been done before with some funny AF name suggestions and designs.

Dont have any problem with some of the more outlandish TOPS model names.
It the TOPS slogan, which doesnt sit well with me.

'One Life, One Knife.'

One knife - you NUTS!!?
If they lived by that slogan, they would make just ONE knife, right?
