Torn between two knives

Second, this is the Kizer Sheepdog. Sure, not everyone is into cleaver-style blades for EDC. I'm usually not. However, I picked up the special edition they did for Halloween. I got it for novelty and ended up liking it a lot more than I thought I would. The flipper tab offers a lot of leverage and the detent on mine is just right. Snapping out that big blade is surprisingly satisfying.

This is the full-sized version with a 3.25" blade in S35VN and carbon fiber. It gets right up close to your maximum price but there are a bunch of other versions available in various steels, including an XL.

If you're looking at a ZT 350, get a Kershaw Blur instead. The 350 is just way too big and heavy for what you get. The Blur carries much smaller (even though the blade is actually a touch longer), and is one of the few (only?) speed-safe knives not burdened with a flipper tab or safety.

If I'm not mistaken, the SOG Pentagon you mentioned is NOT assisted.
