Toughest Folder in your opinion?.

I would think that the Scott Cook Lochsa would be a very tough folder. The frame is a solid piece of titanium. No screws except the pivot which is tightened down due to the fact that he uses a pivot bushing like the Sebenza. But it's hard to really consider the Lochsa a production knife. Other than that my vote would go to the Sebenza and when the new CRK folder comes out I think that one will take the prize and also fit into the production knife category. :p:cool::eek:;)

The Locsha is NOT a production knife by any means!! It is a CUSTOM knife!

Toughest production folders IMO:

Strider SNG, AR
Extrema Ratio RAO
Crusader Forge
Zero Telerance 300, 301, 302

Not production, but in the same price range: Hinderer XM-18

I have not used this one so I don't know how well it would hold up to actual field abuse but it seems pretty darn stout. Extrema Ratio Faida.

This one I have used a lot and it is as tough as they get. Strider SMF.

I will second any of the afore mentioned knives. I doubt any of them would fail under normal use or even abnormal use. Also check out the ZT 0500 MUDD. It is the only knife I know that can be used in any conditions......sealed lock and pivot... :D

Here's the strongest built folder I've ever seen.
The Ray Rogers custom Chupacabra.
It comes with a massive 1/2" pivot, titanium handles, your choice of blade steel, is 10 1/2" in length, and weighs 14 ozs.
Look how puny the Strider looks beside it.
I love it so well I ordered a second one only two months apart.

Here's mine beside a Spyderco ATR.

Kerhsaw's ZT0500 MUDD. I did a review on a pass-around here starting at post #44.

I'm really impressed with this knife. The lock-up is so solid, it feels like a fixed blade. It's Kershaw's collaboration on Grant and Gavin Hawk's MUDD custom, and I love that lock. I have an 0200, but this is far and above a more solid multi-purpose folder.

The toughest folders I own are the Spyderco Manix, ZT 0300's, and my Strider SMF!

Any of the John Greco folders would qualify. Insanely strong- I seem to remember an article where they tried to break it, and the blade broke before the lock so much as budged. Considering the blade was 1/4" 8670, that takes some doing!

Thought I had already answered this one, but guess I was wrong. Toughest folders I have would be my Strider AR, and/or my ZT0500. The more I carry and use the 0500, the more I like it. This is a difficult question to answer as we all have our favorites, and we all want our own folders to be the toughest!;):D

TKC:

LOL! But I guess you couldn't put the XM-18 in the production category either!;):p

In the past maybe but the 3rd Gen ones are MidTechs since the blade grinds are now outsourced. So they are getting closer to being production models.

Extreme Ratio Fulcrum II is one tough Hombre.

The HK 14200 or 14205 are right up there also but not of the same ilk as the Fulcrum knives with those massively thick pry bar blades.
