I work as a firefighter, a fair number of guys carry a Delica. I would say half of the guys have broke the tips off them......
The often mentioned Manix ( I love mine btw) has a tip that would also fail in these guys hands .For that reason I would not recomend it if your use goes beyond and use ofther than cutting .
If your a hack, poke, pry, bore a hole type guy then I'd look at the Buck/Striders .
Both the Manix and the Military have flat-ground blades and at least the Military has had some problems with broken tips and, since the Manix is essentialy a Military blade with a Chinook hilt, I would expect that it might have similar problems. I am somewhat surprised at the Delica breaking its tip, as it has a fairly strong spine almost up to the tip.Lone Hunter said:This is hard to answer without knowing what your meaning of 'toughest, workhorse etc".

I have to disagree.....since the Manix is essentialy a Military blade with a Chinook hilt,...

they are quite different. Try and hold a Manix.FullerH said:As to the hilts on the Manix and the Chinook, the pictures make the Manix hilt look very much like the Chinooks that I have.
