toughest folder

The Manix is flat ground. I've never held a military, but judging from photos and Manix has a thicker spine and slightly varied blade shape.

SPydercos are great knives for cutting. But you dont need a tough knife, to cut well. Striders and extrema ratios are the really tough knives out there along with the trident folder which i dont think is out yet.

I dont beleive the manix is designed to be a "tough" knife in the sense that is being used. Its designed to be an excellent cutter and it succeeds. This is why i said emerson.

Also as sad as i am to say this that guy who said dork-ops might be right on about it being the toughest in your price range if emersons are unavailable.

Garth, is the blade a flat grind like the Military?
Yes, it is. Slices like hell:D .
The tip is a little fragile, but not as bad as the Military´s.

Give it a try.

I do not particularly like flat grinds as I do not trust their durability. I have read of too many incidents where the tips of Militaries have snapped off. I will stick with saber grinds or other grinds that give better blade strength.
