Hell yeahhh! Lets party again.
Heeeyyy alll Beckerheads, Esee people, Hogs, and Rats,....OVEEERR HEEERRRREEE!!!!! Time for war again!
Btw I love that super evil tactical killing tool in that pic. Where can I reach mastersmith "mortal combat"? I got to talk to him,...I can allready tell that he knows what do I need.
RAZORBLADES,...who made that 1095 that you like so much? Have seen some blistering performance from 1095.
note to myself: ask master "mortal combat" if he can make me that knife in 1095, or...maybe I should just go with one of his "super secret super steels" that is unbreakable once the thickness of the blade is reduced to 3/4"???

My 1095 knife was hand made by Russell Nickerson,he has a small knife shop where he makes all of his knives out of either 1095 or 52100.The 1095 is made to work, lower hardness but it is right there with anything out there today for edge holding.I had some free time so i got some hands on training and we made the knife together. One of my favorites ,since Russell has had 2 heart attacks and rarely makes any knives now.

If you want a tough fixed-blade, Buck is a great, reliable company that makes
fine products. I've relied on Buck-110's for years as an EDC knife. I've also had the pleasure of using the 119 fixed-blade. Ontario & Bk&T & Ka-bar also
make excellent fixed-blades & folding-knives. It's tough to go wrong with any of them, & they all do stand behind their products. SOG makes some good
folders & some excellent fixed-blades as well (go with the cryo-ones). Also,
Gerber makes some pretty good fixed-blades such as the Prodigy, LMF, & LHR.

Um..if you want a good folding-knife, I'd go with a Buck-110 or a Buck Alpha.
The sheaths can be easily modified to hold a mini-mag-lite (key-chain one),
combination tool-file (check out leatherman's accessories), & a ferro-rod. Buck's knives sharpen easily, & hold a keen edge well. They're also rather tough. Though, you need to be careful with the points on the 110's, which
are clip-points, afterall. :)

Hope you find yourself a great knife,

Sorry to hear about Russell's heart problems. I have a great experience with hand forged 1095. Too bad I can not say that for my knives that are made by stock removal...1095 also. Have about two years worth of mortgage payments "invested" in great quality blades made by stock removal, just do not get a chance to use any of 'em anymore. Everything is done much faster, and with less effort, less stress directed towards the arms, or hands when I use that forged blade. Also I can use forged blade longer then the other. It feels like the knife is doing the work for me. It seems to me that toughness is applied to the blade with a hammer: )

Cro91,all of the knives he made were all handforged.I never seen him make anything using stock removal. It took us 30 hours to complete my knife.I am glad i did it,never getting that chance again. The thing cuts effortlessly too!

There are some very tough knives out there. Lots of folks have mentioned them. The three that I own and can speak for their extreme durability are Becker BK2, and BHK Pathfinder, and a new Adventure Sworn cutom. Good luck in your search.

Look at Grayman knives. I have the Mega Pounder in 7.5 variant and have been very happy with it!

Hey guys. What do you think is the toughest, most durable knife that you know of? I live in like super thick woods. I don't want a machete. But I want to be able to cut thorns bushes and clean game with it. So what do you guys think is the toughest knife?

You are really going to need two knives.

A knife than can cut brush like you want and do it well will be both too long to be really useful in cleaning game.

A Matchete is best for clearing brush and they are cheap too.

To clean game something around 4-5" is best for control and ease of use.

It was supposed to be a brisk 2 hours hike up along the jungle trails and when i finally locate time that it took me 5 hours to get myself back to civilization; The trails are gone and covered with fallen logs and never-ending obstruction of vines and thorny plants. Together with the massive downpour Horton made a good step knife on slippery slope of mud. Horton has chopped, dug, pried through everything on its way. I was drenched with dirts, my legs were sore but Camp 2 remains one of my trusted knives. SHTF mode.

No doubt my ZT-9 Bayonet or my HI Khukuri would do the same but i did it with Horton Camp 2.

smatchet.

"The psychological reaction of any man, when he first takes the Smatchet in his hand, is full justification for its recommendation as a fighting weapon. He will immediately register all the essential qualities of a good soldier-confidence, determination, and aggressiveness.

Its balance, weight, and killing power, with the point, edge, or pommel, combined with the extremely simple training necessary to become efficient in its use, make it the ideal personal weapon for all those not armed with a rifle and bayonet." -W.E. Fairbairn Get Tough

It only is the perfect knife, but it makes you a better person too!:D

In all seriousness I think an ESEE 6 is going to be about perfect for those uses.

Despite your attempt at being funny I'm pretty sure that Mortal Combat is not a person but a vedio game/movie franchise....

yeah if you want one knife for all your needs then id get an esee 6 thats about he only knife i cna think of that is super tough and readily available that will fulfill both needs.

otherwise id get that buck hoodlum and and a boker dozier skinner and you made.

There's only ONE answer and that's an ESEE Junglas. I've had one for awhile and there's no math for it. There is allot of great knives out there but this one is it. If you need something smaller to go along with it look at the ESEE 4. These are TOUGH knives. I've seen them bend almost 90 degrees before snapping, bashed through bricks and metal and they keep going. I've got both. Although I love and own many Bucks ESEE is a whole other breed of TOUGH. You won't be disappointed.
