Track Rock Recurve Repost

I Posted this knife two weeks ago but had to withdraw the post because I found a flaw in the handle. It has been replaced and so here it is again.
I forged this knife at the hammer-in a few weeks ago at Track Rock Valley camp ground in Georgia. A fine bunch of guys and if anyone gets an opportunity to attend one of these I highly recommend it.

Forged from 5160
Flat grind with some forge marks
Hand sanded to 600 grit
Tapered tang
Cocobolo handle
Overall length: 12 1/4 inches
Blade:7 3/4 inches
Weight: 15 oz
Riveted leather scabbard

Gerry: I am going to have to get down to Track Rock in the future for a "hammer in". I bought a beautiful knife made by Carl Rexsteiner (CRex) at a show in Alabama after I got back from Iraq in 2006. I communicated with him after that, and he invited me to come down to Track Rock, but I have not yet been able to take him up on that. Do you make it down there regularly? It sounds like a great time!

Good looking knife, the blade has a good solid look to it. I like the way the tang thins out going back.

Carl does a great job of heading up the hammer-in. This was my first time there and I intend to go back again this fall with my own anvil and forge. You will enjoy the facility and the Track Rock valley is one of the most beautiful places in the area.

Was glad you could make it down Gerry, it was a pleasure to finally meet you. RLo was threatening to drag you down by the heel if you didn't come voluntarily. We always have a good time at Trackrock, good people, plenty of fire, steel, hammers and anvils what else could a knife nut want? Have to agree on the setting, doesn't get any better!
