tracking EMS Japan?

I ordered some items from an ebay seller in Japan. There was a language barrier and some delays, but he's got pretty good feedback and things didn't completely fall apart. With the tracking number he sent me, the package was shipped EMS International Air Parcel Post on Sept. 25th, and arrived at JFK NY Sept. 29th. How can I track it from there, the website he gave me is based in Japan. It has a 'check the local office' button, but that is only for Japan. Anyone have a good idea if USPS has my package or its sitting in customs, and can I contact someone with the Japanese company's tracking number to find it? Or is it really late or lost/I got screwed?

My luck, it gets dropped off this afternoon, right after I ask.

Have you tried the EMS # in the USPS system. Express mail in the US is EMS through the USPS and IIRC it is trackable in the USPS system. Hope you find it. :thumbup:

Well, crap, that was entirely too simple. I had no idea they would use the same number system to track. I thought USPS wouldn't track it because I was told they couldn't track a priority mail package once it left the country. I guess coming in is better than going out.
