Traditional and Modern pairings

Here is a direct comparison of traditional to modern in a classic pattern skinning blade. The rosewood handled Marbles Woodcraft is from the 1990s in carbon steel, while the modern is by Luong La of Blunt Cut Metal Works in Asian satinwood and CTS-XHP @ 65 HRc. With Luong's special heat treatment, this will baton through nails with no visible edge damage and last for years of heavy hunting use without needing a sharpening.

I don't post in this thread often, which is odd because I often carry a modern and a traditional folding knife. Im gonna roll with these two this week, the Endura has probably been in my pocket for the last month. The Schrade hasn't been out to play in a good long while. For a long time i was a Trapper guy, lately tho I've just been switching from one Stockman to another. My Grandad was a Stockman guy, he started me out with one. Maybe I'm drifting back to my roots.
I hope everyone has had a nice weekend and I wish you all a happy and productive week.

This one is a pairing of traditional and modern, all in one knife. I bought it as an experiment and I have mixed feelings about it. Never the less, here is the Case Trapperlock. It's a traditional single blade Trapper with a liner lock, a thumb stud, and a pocket clip...

Not sure if I'll keep it or send it down the road?

I have started to only carry these 2, plus a LM, to work, and let them share the work the Emersons/Spydercos used to do. This little experiment has only lasted a couple of days, but the #66 is doing fine!
