Traditional and Modern pairings

That Hanwei is just a beauty, Will! The attention to detail....wow. What do you mean by "button lock"?

Many thanks, it's a very well turned out knife.
Not exactly sure of the meaning as I'm not too up in Modern knives but, the thumbstud acts as a lock: after opening it locks into place securing the knife. When you want to close the knife you push on the thumbstud like a button and it opens the lock to allow closure.

thanks, Will

GEC Bullnose and a Hubertus with grooved micarta scales and 440C steel - it´s one of a few modern patterns Hubertus is making... I carry it daily in my pack - Full tang (of course ;) )

Will, I'm also smitten by your stag wharncliffe folder. Very cool! Is it a production knife, or semi-custom, or what? Are they available somewhere? Must try one!

I found a few sites just by googling "hanwei sheffield stag." They're not cheap but I'm not surprised.

Another shot of the Hanwei which is in Bonestag NOT stag, still looks OK though. Feat Tidioute Houndstooth

Every time I see the Hanwei, I can't help but envision a toucan, with feathery shoulders and a starry eye. Killer knife you have there.

Thanks! It has a lot of beak presence it's true:D:thumbup: Extremely well-made.

Regards, Will

Two favourites:)

I have re profiled the edge bevel's on both knives to convex by hand. The CPM-M4 took considerably longer!! I really like the GB Air (probably because aesthetically it comes close to a traditional!) clever knife, great steel:)

Please remember the forum in which you are posting and keep discussion of the moderns to a minimum.

+1 You can see mine on the previous page (post #688). M4 is amazing stuff!

Recieved a loaner in the mail the other day. It has been a long time since I carried a modern. This one in M4 really is special, thanks again for the surprise, Kevin
