Traditional and Modern pairings

I do it often. 🤣
I got rid of all my Spyderco knives except the Lockbacks and a Manix 2. After having a few knives with ball detents open up while pulling the knife out of my pocket, I only kept knives that had spring tension to help keep them closed. I don't need speed, I prefer safety and reliability.

Not a Speed King eh?

You ain't kidding. It's supposed to be 104 degrees tomorrow here in Loomis. :(
I am glad Modoc Ed is getting his swamp cooler optimized and I hope they have AC at the Wagon Wheel. I saw it was 117 the other day at a town in Texas. Fire is a big concern around here. I sure hope Big Sur makes it through a summer without a major fire or Hwy 1 being closed. Stay cool in Loomis.

Nope... I don't see myself getting into any knife situation where a half second is going to mean much.

Fingers crossed, I'm really starting to hate Fire Season.
Looks like it suppose to hit 114 here in sunny Arizona.
But it's a dry heat. 🤣
I remember the first day I moved to Scottsdale it was 124 degrees. 😲

Again, not two pieces I usually carry simultaneously; rather, the main two pieces between which I alternate for carrying purposes:

The Benchmade was given to me by my ex's dad many years ago, and it only really became my EDC relatively recently, as I couldn't legally carry knives where I used to live. The Joker on the other hand I bought mainly to bring with me when visiting my girlfriend's family, since the country where they live doesn't allow carrying knives that can both be opened with one hand and have a locking mechanism (yup, pretty stupid law).
