Traditional and Modern pairings

I revisited this Ka-Bar Dozier I “traditionalized” a while ago. It was good, and comfortable in the hand, but I wanted to slim it down a little to be more pocket-friendly.

Instead of taking it apart, I just attacked it with a hacksaw, then a drawknife, then a rasp, and finally some coarse sandpaper. The pivot pin wound up slightly sunken and there are some other imperfections, but if I beat on it the way I used to beat on that poor Case, it won’t be long before you won’t be able to tell…

The 710 is such a great knife
It’s a never sell. It did get away from me many years ago in a trade to a buddy, but I missed it and he didn’t take much of a shine to it, so got it back after a very short separation. It’s been with me ever since, and a usual go to.

This particular one is a 154cm model. While I would love to have one in M390, this one has always worked perfectly well for me.
