Traditional and Modern pairings

Nice contrast there buddy. I haven't touched my moderns since stepping thru these doors.

That's pretty bold. I feel that I haven't found a traditional yet that convinced me to leave my modern folders at home. I am a bit of a steel junkie at heart so with the right custom and blade steel combination I hope to one day find what I am looking for. Hopefully I can get one built in a few months as I have a ground floor opportunity on a custom. For now, the moderns will continue to be paired with the traditionals.

Oh man... this is what I love. So glad I found this thread! Old and new blending together in one pic and even sometimes in one knife!

Well I didn't have too many moderns to begin with. Only a handful of mid to low end ones. Anyway they attracted too much unwanted attention. With the traditionals, no one give me a second glance when I pull out a little #15 or #25 :)

That is a beauty of a Mcusta you have Todd. I love that manufacturer and they make terrific knives.

On a side note, that Kimber spends more time being photographed than being holstered! :D

I can completely understand your position Linus. I very much take for granted the lack of shock you get here when you open a 3"-4" folding pocket knife.

Today's carry duo:

Case TB61028 Teardrop jack and my Benchmade 710 in D2.

As much as I love my Spydercos, the Bm 710 was the iconic model that really got me back into the sickness of collecting knives. Used to own 5 or 6 versions of it, now I only have the first 710 I ever purchased in D2. Nice pair!

Thanks :) I have one of the G10 versions and have carried/used one of the first UKPK lightweights since they were introduced. I figured I should get a lightweight with the FFG while still available.

I hope by the time I post this it follows sitflyers "Duane's" post?

First off a HUGE THANK YOU to Duane. He PM'd me asking for my address, he said he had an extra "PAUL" knife with my name on it---I think pun was intended:o:p

Needless to say Duane's generosity comes through again on this wonderful forum:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Duane GIFTED me this (what I'd classify) as "VINTAGE" Gerber "PAUL" knife. I had always admired the knife but until it arrived never even held one. The knife is very impressive---from the unique lock, to the F&F, centered and solid blade, to the tolerances the knife possesses.

So my new "PAUL" knife shown with another classy Traditional folder;)

Great stuff Duane and Paul! I noticed the States you live in both start with North.

Great stuff, Paul and Duane! I've always had an interest in the Paul lock, but never got around to acquiring one. This may have piqued my interest again.
