Traditional and Modern pairings

Nice duo Brett:thumbup:

I'm a bit of a small fixed blade Junkie and that is a wonderful little blade my friend. Do you carry in a pocket sheath? If so, front or back pocket?

Thank you Paul. I'm pretty excited about this little PSK. It is just the size I was looking for and I do carry it sheathed in the front right, so far. Haven't carried it in jeans yet, so we'll see how it rides. I see it riding with a slippy pretty much daily. I may have to get my wife another one. This one is mine. :D

Nice Brett! I see you decided to go through with one after all. How are you liking it so far?

You were right on the money in your recommendation of this one for it's size and ergonomics! Haven't had a chance to use it today, due to work and night classes, but it just feels good in hand. Thanks again for pointing me to this one. My original intention was to have it my wife's emergency car kit. I may have to get another one for that purpose.

Great choice! The cocobolo is looks fantastic! And I love your thinking... Yeah the wife needs one too ;) LOL... I'm sure you're going to need to be carrying that one too to make sure it's performing properly and up to the correct safety specs for your wife. Haha...

It is Cocobolo. I thought about the Ironwood, but have been on a cocobolo kick. I'm already thinking a double leather slip that will hold it and a slip joint. I certainly will be carrying it often and I think I'll let my wife pick hers out. I have a feeling she'll grab the pink micarta though.

When i bought the SLB1 i thought it was a great small OHO but then as my hands started stiffening it became harder to deploy and i found that a Manbug with a short lanyard did the job,of course they are both illegal carries where i live so i pretty much just carry traditional slip joints now with the Calf Roper and White Owl my main EDCs but if i need something a little smaller i carry either a Magnum or an Esquire. I think it is interesting how our definition of "Small Knife" changes once we move from Tactical to Traditional.

Brace yourself! Ha Ha... :p
Just got the Mini Southard in today (more on EDC IV thread) and had to have something special to carry with this knife. A day of celebration indeed!

Trying out this cheap little Texas toothpick with the Kestrel to see how I like the modern and traditional combo. May snag a case version soon.

Bringing this thread back up for air with these two.

Two stunners, Gary!

Thanks, Phil. The little Kansei Matsuno liner lock is one of my favorite modern knives. The Erickson SBG is as good as they get in my estimation, even if it is one of his earlier creations.

Two stunners, Gary! If you say the Kansei Matsuno is one of your favorites, then it requires further investigation on my part;) Thanks for the look!

I think having an early Erickson creation makes it even more special! The covers look like elephant?
