Traditional and Modern pairings

Little bit of stag today. I think these go quite nicely together.

This isn't a pairing I have actually carried as the Primble is my grandfather's and is now retired to staying open and cleaning fish on the back porch. I think if I tried to save it and put it on display he'd be annoyed, as he likes to use things till the last possible usability has long been gone from them. However he did carry it for decades before this, and it looks great with my Lone Star Hunter. It inspired my purchase of the LSH, and every time I use my LSH I think about his old knife. We have a close relationship as he taught me most everything I know about the outdoors and woodworking and stuff like that, and I am very fortunate to be his neighbor. Not many people get to be around their grandparents and learn from them the way I have and still do.

I have carried a Taylor/Schrade 227UH with this knife, but its nothing to really look at, its a cheap knife I use for rough and dirty use.

I've seen Seebees at knife shows but I have never handled one until I handled work knife buddy's Seebee yesterday. Those things are dern nice! Like some other knives he has to far out of my range!

I have more moderns than traditionals at this point but that gap is closing. I almost always have two knives with me due to the nature of my work. Today it's a Benchmade 531 blk and a Northfield Bullet End Jack EO. Right now, though, my tastes are definitely running to traditionals, the knives of my boyhood. More personality and soul, if you will, and prettier as well.
