Two good lookin and interesting knives!:thumbup:
I'd like to know more about them, and see the traditional opened, if possible. :)
Does the groove and hole in the modern serve a specific purpose? Can you tell us more about the traditional? Who made it, what's the handle material? :):D

Thank you, -James-

Thank you!

The modern knife is a Rockstead Chou. The groove and the hole do not serve any purpose, they are the trademark of Rockstead. Every knife from them features it.

The traditional is a Löwenmesser 1161 from Solingen, Germany. The handle is made of olive wood.
I can not take a picture of the opened knife at the moment - I will try tomorrow or so.

Claus0BF, thanks for the info.
I've always liked olive wood and that folder is a very fine example.
No rush on a photo, but if it's possible I know I'd enjoy it.
Thanks again, especially for relaying the Brand names, that will enable me to see more of them.

Go ahead and lock up your wallet now. Those Rocksteads take production knife prices to a whole nother level!
They certainly are beautiful pieces though.

I'm carrying these two today.
