Sweet, looks like everybody had a bal. That Cypress reminds me of the pics I see of me when I was little. He has that mischievious glint in his eye, lol. I gotta get a bow. I want to make my own. Just sold my compound bow to help the funds situation a bit. I'm a decent woodworker, carving and such, how hard would it be to make my own? I have a sweet piece of locust, a 1" x 4" pc. About 6 ft. long. Would that do? Thanks for the great pics. Like we all came with ya.

you can do a good working bow in a few hours, a more craftsmanlike piece takes longer. My son's rattan longbow took about an hour, most of that tillering. Rattan is easy, but a bit slow in bow terms. I'm doing a few red oak stick right now, not too much time into them- the only thing taking a long time is the knife work that keep preempting the bows :D

Awesome pictures Mike. Talk about quality family time. Your life is a gem!

Great pictures Mike.

My dad might be doing a big stone job on a house in santa cruz soon.
Beutifful out there, I hope to come out for a weekend or something.

many thanks once agian folks...:D i can't wait until the next weekend long shoot in april...

jed--- that would be cool if you came out this way for a weekend... we could definately do some shooting and some tromping through the woods..

Hey Mike,

That is simply awesome to be able to share your passion with your family. Even your father in law!! I hope you appreciate what a lucky ba****d you are! :D

Doc

(He even bought you a Bravo1 for your birthday??????????? Damn!) :D

I am just floored at all the poses struck with those bows. Hell, I didn't realize people still aimed way up in the air like that with them given how difficult it is to hit something at 20 yards with a trad bow much less sling them out there like that. VERY cool stuff Mike!

Wow Mike, that looks like a lot of fun. I have been wanting to get my kids into archery. Thanks for the inspiration!

I'll keep you updated.
The owners of the house are on a holiday right now, they must be pretty well laid out.
My dad told me it was a 16 million dallor house on the coast line!
Don't know why they are hireing a poor old guy from ohio that puts metal to rock for a living(my dad). :p

Love to come out and maybe get some tips, since everyone in my family has converted to compound shooting. :D
